“Oh, shit there’s a dinosaur behind me, isn’t there?”
She takes a deep breath and turns around. Her tiny shoulders drop and she looks upset. Turic feels a pang in his soum. Why is his Saku upset?
“Don’t do that shit. You’re going to give me a heart attack.”
There’s a noise up ahead and Turic yanks out his bone dagger, ready to die for his Saku.
“Okay, now that’s a freaking dinosaur,” she sings. “Let’s get the fuck out of here!”
She is not scared in the least. She is a Saku and could kill this dinosaur with her cute little toe. But, it’s only a macrinom, an eater of leaves. He will not harm us.
“Why are you walking forward?!? Let’s go this way! Turic! Turic!”
Turic guides her forward and she looks at the harmless macrinom with fear and wonder. Why does she pretend to be afraid when she is the Slayer of Dinosaurs?
Turic bites his lip until it hurts like the strike of a wicker. Who is Turic to question the ways of the Saku?
Turic hurries the pace. We must get to Loupin, the village Shaman, by sunset.

Ugh, this guy walks fast.
The sun seems to be setting and he finds a little cave that I guess we’re going to be spending the night in. He seems agitated and nervous as we settle in. He keeps looking at the entrance to the cave and mumbling something. At first, I’m worried that there’s a dinosaur or something outside but I don’t think that’s it. His bone knife would be in his hand if there was any danger.
“It’s okay,” I whisper, placing my hand on his thick forearm. “Relax.”
He lets out a loud sigh as his body loosens, and he seems to be relaxing. It actually worked. Maybe I’m not as hopeless in everything as I thought I was.
Turic unhooks a furry creature which looks like a mix between a rabbit and a kangaroo that he caught earlier. It was just hanging out in a tree and Turic grabbed it and snapped its neck. I felt bad at first but now I’m ready to skin it myself and eat it raw. I’m starving.
I watch, taking notes as he prepares it with swift, skillful fingers. His face is twisted in concentration and I can’t help but stare. His turquoise eyes are so mesmerizing and I find myself getting lost in them more and more. Maybe it’s because he’s the only thing left in my life, or the fact that he’s so protective over me, or maybe it’s because he is overflowing with pure alpha masculinity, but I’m finding him really sexy.
I see the way he looks at me with a heated gaze and his skin flushing a dark blue. At first, it unnerved me but now I like it. I crave it.
I’ve always had a thing for big muscles and this guy has muscles galore. He’s powerful and capable and manly and sexy. I’ll admit it. This big blue alien is fucking hot.
I try to speak with him while he cooks our furry dinner but it’s not really happening. The language barrier seems to be here to stay.
For such a strong and powerful being, he is extremely gentle with me. His light touches and gentle strokes of his massive hand are not going unnoticed. It makes me feel delicate and feminine in a way that I never have before. For someone who doesn’t know the first thing about earthling women, he’s actually doing pretty well.
This night is colder than last night and even though there’s a roaring fire in the cave, my body still shakes with chills. I could really use my shredded t-shirt. I really regret leaving it in the cave behind the waterfall.
Turic sees me shiver and then disappears out of the cave. I hate it when he does that but I’m smiling when he comes back with a few large green leafs. They feel remarkably like blankets and they’re soft to touch and they keep me surprisingly warm.
“Thanks, T,” I whisper as I get comfortable under them.
I watch him as he sharpens his knife made out of some kind of animal bone. I still haven’t seen any metal on the planet yet. I guess that means there’s no Cappuccino machines or televisions. They’re a few centuries away from that, at least.
The constant swooshing of the rock on his blade is hypnotizing and with the warmth of the fire and leafy blankets, I’m quickly falling asleep.
Turic leans in and kisses my forehead gently as I doze off to sleep.

I wake up in the middle of the night freezing and feeling very alone. The fire is just a pile of ash and the leafy blankets which were soft and warm before are now stiff and cold like cardboard.
Turic is sleeping heavily in front of me, looking like he doesn’t have a care in the world. I envy him. He seems so comfortable and at home in this wild unusual place.
A cold chill shoots through my body as I hear a grunting sound outside followed by some shuffling. I dart over to Turic’s side in an instant. He’s half asleep as he pulls me down beside him and wraps his heavy muscular arm over me.
It feels good to have his strong bicep warming me, protecting me. I’m so happy he’s here.
