Barbarian Box Set: Barbarians of Zandipor Books One, Two and Three

I swallow hard as I look up into his gorgeous eyes. Maybe it’s the fact that he saved my life and has been a loyal protector or just the fact that I haven’t seen another male in weeks, but my body is reacting to him in a strong way. My breaths come out quick and ragged as my eyes drop down to his massive chest that’s at my eye level.

I shouldn’t be attracted to him. I shouldn’t be thinking these thoughts. But I can’t help it. He is pure alpha masculinity rolled up into a gorgeous blue package. It catches me off guard and I’m not sure how to react.

“The Saku Avery,” he continues, “wears strange animal skins like this,” he says tugging at my yellow tank top with a powerful hand. He almost rips it off in his grasp and I’m slightly disappointed that the cheap fabric hangs on.

I shake my head, clearing the unhelpful thoughts clouding up my brain. He’s definitely describing Avery. But none of it makes any sense. How did she become friends with him and teach him English so fast? I’d be surprised if she could explain the difference between a verb and a noun. So to teach him flawless English in a week? No way.

“Where is she?” I ask, holding my elbow as I watch him.

“The ferocious Straykeer will bring you to her soon,” he says, his eyes lowering and settling on my breasts.

My heartbeat races as I watch him with a stomach that feels rock hard. “Are you going to hurt me, or make me do…things?”

His eyes narrow on me as he pulls his lips tight together. “Never,” he says with a force that makes me believe him. He seems disgusted of the thought that I just mentioned. “I’ll protect you always and forever. For that’s what mates do.”

The hardness in my stomach turns to butterflies as I look up, meeting eyes with him. “What if I don’t want to be your mate?” I ask, cringing as I wait for his answer that doesn’t come. He looks so shocked, his face full of hurt and disbelief.

I still need his protection so it might be a good idea to lead him on a bit. I don’t want him getting bored and taking off without me. I won’t last five minutes out here without him.

“I mean…” I say, stuttering. “I’m not saying never, it’s just humans need some time to bond.”

He rubs his thick chin as he contemplates my words. “Okay,” he says with a sharp nod of his head. “We’ll return to the village and then the bonding will begin. That will leave my Mandy enough time to prepare her delicious culip for the dominant Straykeer’s raging cock.”

“Culip?” I mutter under my breath as he turns abruptly and starts walking at a swift pace.

Raging cock?

I hope that Avery really gained super powers like he claims because I might need some protection from my protection.

We settle in for the night in a warm cave after several hours of me riding on Straykeer’s back like a human backpack. He starts a fire in record time and then pulls out the fluffy dead burumae that I hope is our dinner. I haven’t eaten meat in weeks and my starving body could really go for a nice juicy steak right about now.

I turn away as he skins the scary creature and shoves his sword through its body. I feel grossed out at first as he sticks it over the fire to cook but my queasiness quickly goes away as the entire cave starts flooding with the mouthwatering smell of barbecued meat.

Straykeer prepares the meal with a quiet confidence that piques my interest. I study his face that’s deep in concentration as he expertly carves up the meat with his second sword. My eyes keep settling on his blue lips and I let myself wonder what it would feel like to kiss him. Would it feel like kissing a human? A huge sexy human in blue body paint?

“Eat,” he says, handing me a drumstick the size of a bowling ball.

“Oh,” I say, nearly dropping it on the floor as he releases it. It’s huge and I could never fit the whole thing into my body but that’s not going to stop me from trying.

There is no way to look like a lady eating this thing so I don’t even bother. I chomp into it like a caveman and moan as I bite into the delicious meat, letting the sweet juices drip down my chin.

“Fuck, that’s good,” I moan as I swallow it down.

Straykeer cuts himself a piece even bigger than mine and sits down beside me to eat it. We eat in silence, just the smacking of our satisfied lips and the crunching of our eager teeth. This is definitely the best moment that I’ve had since I crash landed on this dreaded planet.

“Oh, man,” I say placing the half-eaten drumstick on a flat rock where I can finish it later. “I’m so stuffed. Like, I’m in pain stuffed. That was so good.”

Straykeer is doing better than me. His meal is down to the bone. “Eat more,” he says, pointing at the carcass laying beside the fireplace.

“I wish I could,” I say, holding my aching stomach. “I’m stuffed.”

I lean back and stare at the crackling fire in front of us as Straykeer reaches over and grabs another piece. “You wouldn’t happen to have a cigarette would you?” I ask. A nice smoke would make this moment absolutely perfect.

“A cigarat?” he repeats, tilting his head as he looks at me. “What is that?”
