A McKenzie Christmas (McKenzie Brothers, #5.5)

“Really?” Carla had tears running down her face at Sebastian’s sweet words.

Sebastian plucked his wife from the chair and sat back down with her in his lap so he could hold her close. He kissed her brow, and asked, “Will you tell me what you’re thinking, and how you feel?”

“I was shocked to be honest when the doc announced I was pregnant, but when I looked at you and saw your love, a bubble of excitement started to work it’s way up inside me. Until I was told that a baby was growing inside me, I didn’t know just how much I wanted to be a mom.” She smiled through watery eyes. “I love you.”

Carla started kissing her way across his jaw and neck before she straddled him. She rubbed up close and personal to his ‘ready for action’ dick, and he froze.

“Fuck.”

“What?”

“I never asked the doc if we could still have sex.” He paled and Carla laughed.

“Don’t be silly, of course we can have sex. In fact, it was probably my changing body that caused the reaction in me that it did when I came the other night.”

“So, that wasn’t a one off?”

“I don’t think so.” She grinned, knowing the direction his thoughts had gone.

Before she could catch her next breath. She was in his arms and being carried to the bedroom.

She didn’t miss the little ‘meow’s’ coming down the hallway as he paused in the doorway to their room.

“Oh, fuck it.” He cursed, and left the door open so that the kitten could come and go as it pleased.

Chapter 3

Ruben & Rosie

Kenza wasn’t as busy with it being the middle of the week, which was just fine because Rosie was desperate to get her husband swaying to the music with her. She actually just wanted to be in his arms and that would be a good enough excuse. She didn’t really need an excuse but when they were supposed to be working, they liked to keep it professional. But it was nearly Christmas so they could try a little something different.

Her husband hated to dance, which had surprised her at first considering he owned one of the hottest nightclubs in Lexington. But she had plans for the evening, which involved being on the dance floor in her husband’s arms.

She had already talked to the DJ about what music to play when he caught them on the dance floor, so all her plans were in place. All she was missing was her husband, who was busy in his office sorting the payroll out so that all his employees were paid before Christmas. No matter how many times Ruben told her it was ‘their’ business as opposed to ‘his’ business, Rosie still couldn’t bring herself to call it theirs. She knew that it bothered him, but it made her feel uncomfortable. Perhaps in time ‘theirs’ would come easier.

They hadn’t been married that long really, but not a day went by without her waking up in Ruben’s arms. He had been under her skin since the day they met and her desire for him knew no bounds. In fact, with Ruben, she’d come a long way in her development to trust him completely. He showed her often that his trust in her was just as strong by what he’d allow her to do to him.

“What has your cheeks rosy, Rosie?” Scott grinned. He’d worked behind the bar now for about two months and had potential as a bartender. He loved to tease her, and Ruben only allowed it because they both knew that he was gay and practically married to his boyfriend. “Or, don’t I want to know?”

She smirked. “You probably don’t want to know.”

“Hmm, one of those thoughts, huh?” He placed some glasses onto the shelf that had been cleaned and turned back to look at her. “Then again, if your thoughts involved that hot piece you’re married to, I could listen.”

Rosie narrowed her eyes, which told him to be quiet. She knew he liked Ruben, but she also knew how much he was in love with Burt, his lover.

“Looks like lover boy has dug himself out of his books.” Scott nodded.

Rosie knew her face lit up as soon as she focused on her handsome husband. She also recognized the look on Ruben’s face when he walked toward her. It was the look that said he meant business—the getting hot and bothered kind of business.

She met him halfway and sighed in pleasure when he curved his arm around her waist and pulled her close. His other hand went to her chin, and tilted her face up so he could take her in. He smiled at what he saw before he captured a kiss from her.

He loved working side by side with his wife and couldn’t go more than an hour without seeing his ‘Rosie’. Just knowing she was in the same room as he was helped him get through his day. She certainly had a habit of distracting him, especially if they worked in his office, alone.

It probably wasn’t the best time to think about being alone with his sexy wife.

“Dance with me.”
