Viper's Kiss (Back Down Devil MC #8)

“Runner!” Gaige yelled.

Blaine spun and saw the driver on his feet, trying to run. He lifted his gun and shot once, hitting the guy in the neck. His head snapped to the left, his legs stumbled like goo to the right, and then he was on the ground, dead.

“Fuck!” Miller growled. “We needed information, Blaine.”

Blaine didn’t give a shit.

“Wait a second,” Landon said. “We have something here.”

There was a piece of paper on the passenger seat of the car. It was a scribbled note, like a reminder.

Three girls. Rust car. North to the dessert. BDD ties.

“He wrote down his orders,” Gaige said.

“Fuck,” Blaine said. “I shouldn’t have shot him. I’m so sorry, guys. Those strippers… that pussy… my head and heart…”

“Jesus,” Miller said. “You’re falling in love with Jessa.”

“How touching,” Erik said.

“Wait,” Gaige said. “Look at this.”

On the back of the paper was another handwritten note.

Brown wagon. From the south. Cash under the seat. Guns in the trunk. Dress casual.

“He was the runner for the guns,” Miller said.

Everyone fell silent.

Blaine rubbed his chin. “That means the car will be just waiting there. From the south.”

“What do we do?” Nate asked.

“Steal the car,” Miller said. “Cash and guns. Cartel will have different drop points. The car moves, stops, drops the cash. Then it keeps moving. We get the car and just drive it away. Then we have Vin by the balls. He’ll have to face the cartel on his own.”

“And this mess?” Gaige asked.

“Bury the guy. Hide the car.” Miller looked back at the women. “Call a prospect to get these strippers a ride back. We have to go to the strip club and settle this.”

“You going to be able to handle that?” Gaige asked Blaine.

“Fuck me,” Blaine groaned.

Miller slapped Blaine on the back. “Let’s go, brother. The first time you’ll ever come and go from a strip club and smell like pussy and hand lotion.”

Everyone laughed.

Except Blaine.

twenty-nine.

The baby was growing and kicking. Well, maybe not full kicking, but there were movements. Jessa was starting to show without being able to hide it. That made work a little bit uncomfortable. The gossip worked its way around and out of the office, as expected. There were stories floating around, but when Blaine showed up one day to pick Jessa up, it seemed to shut everyone up.

Truthfully, as crazy as Blaine was, nobody could possibly resist him.

There was something building up within the MC. Jessa watched it from the sidelines, waiting for it all to explode. They were all patient though. There were nights when Blaine left at like two in the morning and didn’t come back until sunrise, covered in blood and dirt. He’d burn his clothes, shower, and go right back at it.

The only thing he told Jessa was that he was keeping things on a level playing field.

One night after closing the office, Jessa left to find Blaine waiting outside.

He was holding a rose and stood there like an outlaw dream. He was thick with muscle, thicker with cock, and even more with his heat.

“What are you doing here?” Jessa asked.

“I’m taking a night off. I want to talk to you. Your place?”

“Sure.”

They got to Jessa’s apartment. Blaine made her wait at the door while he checked the entire place. Jessa hated it but understood it.

“Want to tell me why you had to do that?” Jessa asked.

“You know why,” Blaine said. “It’s getting heated.”

“I can see that.”

“We’re close though,” Blaine said.

“Can you tell me what you’re doing?”

“The reason why I haven’t…” Blaine ran a hand through his hair. “Shit. If you don’t know, you don’t have to lie.”

“Lie?”

“If something happens.”

“Like?”

“Christ, sweetheart. If you get kidnapped.”

Jessa sucked in a breath. “What?”

“If you were taken and you were questioned…”

“You’re starting to freak me out, Blaine.”

Blaine pressed his body to Jessa’s, pinning her against the counter. “That’s why I’m here. You need to take some time off work again. Blame it on the baby.”

“That’s bad karma.”

“Fuck karma,” Blaine said. “I control my fate. My destiny.” Blaine stroked Jessa’s cheek. “Understand?”

“You’re going to come to the clubhouse and wait.”

“How long?”

“Not long, sweetheart. They’re moving guns, okay? That’s how Vin is staying alive. We’re going to get the guns and cut Vin off. That puts heat on him from his source. It’s a dangerous situation and everyone we love and care about has to be accounted for. When the smoke clears, Vin will be gone.”

“You’re going to kill him.”

“Yes.”

Jessa swallowed hard. “Good.”

“It’ll be over soon. Then you can have our baby and we can be happy.”

“Are we happy now?”

Blaine’s lips flirted with Jessa’s. “Yeah, we are.”

“I want you, Blaine. Right now.”

Blaine smiled. “Don’t worry, I planned on it. I want to hear you fucking scream.”
