Gia led the way into the kitchen. A bottle of sparkling Moscato was popped open and two flutes filled to the rim. They both loved sweet dessert wine. By the time the second bottle was opened, she felt pleasantly buzzed.
The ringing of Gia’s phone made Angel laugh. Her best friend was always stealing her brothers’ phones and changing their settings. The poppy song “Barbie Girl” was obviously her newest form of torture for Lorenzo. Since Fernando had checked himself into rehab, she had told Angel she’d made Ando’s ringtone normal, but only for a short time.
“Hello, this is Gia, sister extraordinaire,” her friend giggled, pushing buttons on her phone.
Grabbing the still ringing phone out of Gia’s hands before the caller hung up, Angel swiped her finger over the screen. “Hi Ren,” she said breathlessly.
“Hi, baby. Are you ready to come home?” Lorenzo asked.
“No. I’m ready to go to your house. I don’t have a home to call my own.” Angel’s words sounded slurred to her own ears.
“I’ll be there in ten minutes.” Lorenzo countered.
“Kay,” Angel giggled. “Love you.”
Lorenzo chuckled. “Oh, Angel, I love you more.”
Gia grabbed the phone from Angel, pushing the speaker button. “Are you coming to get my best friend?”
“Yes.” Lorenzo’s voice sounded strained.
“Okay, but can I have her bodyguard? Cause he’s really hot in a Sylvester Stallone kind of way. I just really want to hear him yell, Yo Adrian.” She fell off the couch when Angel snatched the phone back, laughing like a loon.

“I’m pulling into the garage. I’ll be up in a couple minutes.” Lorenzo ended the call. He’d called his sister to ask her to invite Angel over for a girls’ day in. He wanted to finalize his plans for tomorrow night but knew she was going stir crazy in his house. Had he known they’d get shit-faced, he might have called Mrs. Rugiero instead.
Lyle sat in a big chair outside his sister’s apartment, but stood at Lorenzo’s approach.
“They’ve not left all day. I don’t think either lady noticed the sun going down.” Lyle tilted his head toward the door. Giggles could be heard through the thick wood. “And, just for the record, I will not be saying Yo, Adrian for anyone.”
Lorenzo laughed at the serious expression on Lyle’s face. “Spoilsport.”
He punched in the code to the apartment and stepped inside to see his sister half-on, half-off the sofa and Angel on the floor, both girls giggling uncontrollably.
“You two are seriously going to give me grey hair.” He bent, and kissed Angel on the forehead.
“You’d be sexy with grey hair.” Angel said.
Gia nodded. “Yep. Take Papá for instance. He is still handsome.” His sister’s encouraging words ended with a very unladylike burp.
After tucking his sister into bed with the help of Lyle, Lorenzo carried a sleeping Angel to the elevator. The bodyguard pressed the button for the basement, then after checking the area, he led Lorenzo and his precious cargo to the large sedan with the blacked-out windows. Lorenzo hated being separated from his woman for another second. Her sleeping form was one he didn’t want to give up, even for the short drive to his home. A quick call, and one of his men were coming to pick up his car, while he got in with Angel, letting a competent Lyle drive.
Once home, he undressed Angel, who didn’t even stir as he placed her under the covers of his big bed. Tomorrow, he had big plans. He hoped she wasn’t too hungover.
“Someone is drilling inside my head,” Angelina grumbled the next morning.
“Here sit up, love.” He helped her sit up, his eyes immediately going to the swell of her breasts.
She grabbed the two pills and took a sip of juice. “Okay, now let me go back to sleep,” she said, pulling a pillow over her head.
Lorenzo shook his head, setting the cup on the end table. “Come on, my sweets. Once you take a shower, you’ll feel much better.”
He finally got a cranky Angel into the large shower. After helping her bathe, massaging the shampoo into her thick hair, he wasn’t sure who hurt more. Her and her head, or he and his neglected erection, but he had plans for them. The aroma of her body wash filled his senses, permeating the bathroom as they got out.
“I booked a day at the spa for you and Gia today. I thought you both might enjoy a nice, relaxing day to be pampered and catered to. What do you think?”
From the way she observed him through half-closed lids, while he made her favorite scrambled egg on toast sandwich, he wasn’t sure if she was on to him. She’d tossed her hair into what he heard they called a messy bun. Lorenzo thought she looked amazing even when hungover.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” she asked, staring at him in shock.
He feigned an innocence, or hoped it passed for innocent. “I’m always nice.”
“You truly are the most amazing, sexy, and yes, nice man I know.” She leaned over and kissed him, making him hard all over again.
