“Always,” he said with a smirk on his face. He walked out of the room and I saw his shadow go down the hall.
Resting my head back on the pillow, I let out a breath. I couldn’t believe it. I had had sex. With Gabe Prescott. I smiled up at the glow stars shining down on me. I rested my arms underneath my head. I started to move my legs when I felt soreness. I couldn’t believe how sore I was and I knew it would only get worse by tomorrow morning. But I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Hearing Gabe’s footsteps, I pulled up my head and saw Gabe had a washcloth in his hand. Tilting my head I asked, “What’s that for?”
“For you,” he said. “You bled a little bit.”
I could feel my face getting red. Even though we were in the dark, I knew. I started to sit up when Gabe walked over to the bed and put up his hand for me to stop. “Lay down, Sarah.”
Doing as he said, Gabe got in between my legs and started to wipe me up with a wet cloth. There was something very sexy about him doing that. I wasn’t getting wet or anything but it was very endearing.
Satisfied with his clean up job, Gabe said, “Okay, you’re good.”
Pulling my head up, I smiled and whispered, “Thank you.”
With the cloth still in his hand, he smiled at me. “Anytime, Sarah.” He got up from the bed. “I’m just going to put this in the bathroom and then I’ll be back.”
“Okay.” Turning on my side, I rested my head on the pillow and started to close my eyes. I knew I was going to fall fast asleep in a matter of seconds.
Feeling the bed dip, I gasped and opened my eyes. “Ssssh, it’s okay, Sarah. It’s just me. Go back to sleep,” Gabe whispered against my ear as he pulled up the blanket and covered us with it. Wrapping his right arm around my waist, he kissed my cheek and said, “Sweet dreams, Sarah.”
Letting out a breath, I took ahold of his right hand. Pulling it up to my mouth, I kissed each finger and said, “Sweet dreams, Gabe.”
“I love you, Sarah,” Gabe breathed against my hair.
Letting out a light breath, I smiled and said, “I love you too, Gabe. Always.”
Chapter 13
Sarah
Rolling over in bed with my eyes still closed, I felt Gabe’s body facing mine. Slowly I opened my eyes and yawned, “Good morning.”
I didn’t hear anything so I opened my eyes and saw Gabe was staring at me. Wiping the crusties from my eyes, I brushed the tangles of hair out of my face. Yawning once more, I sat up and asked, “Gabe, what’s the matter?”
He was quiet for a second. I could see the worried look on his face. He was biting down on his bottom lip.
“Gabe?” I asked again.
Taking a deep breath, he asked, “Do you regret what happened last night, Sarah?”
“Do you?” I whispered. I was going to be crushed if his answer was yes.
“No,” he said. “I don’t.”
Smiling, I said, “Neither do I.” Reaching my hand up to his cheek, I ran my thumb along his unshaven face. “I chose you, Gabe. I won’t regret that for as long as I live—” Pausing, I took a deep breath. “I love you, Gabe. That hasn’t changed since last night. It never will.”
His lips were on me before I even realized. Crushing his mouth to mine, he held firm. Breaking from the kiss, he groaned, “I love you too, Sarah.” He cupped my face. “I love you so much.” Pushing me onto my back, Gabe lay down on top of me. He was crushing me with his weight in the most delicious way.
As his fingers started to make an exploration of my body, my phone started to ring in my purse on the carpet next to his bed.
“Who do you think that is?” Gabe asked as his fingers stopped exploring where I was still a little sore from last night.
Shaking my head, I said, “I don’t know,” as I pushed him off me and started to crawl across the bed. Reaching for my purse, I grabbed my cell phone and saw Ryder was calling me. “Oh no,” I said out loud.
“Who is it, Sarah?” Gabe asked worriedly.
Turning, I tossed him my phone. Catching it in his right hand, he looked down at it. “Oh fuck. This can’t be good. It’s before noon.”
Crawling over to Gabe, I grabbed the phone from him. Before I pressed the green button, I took a deep breath. “Hello?”
“Sarah, what the fuck took you so goddamn long?” Ryder yelled from the other end.
Pulling the phone away from me, I put it on speaker. “Ryder, I have you on speaker. I’m with Gabe. What’s the matter?”
“Hey, buddy,” Gabe said timidly into the phone as he wrapped me in his arms and kissed me on the shoulder.
“Fucking finally you two are back together,” Ryder said. His voice still didn’t sound normal, so I asked, “So you want to tell us what’s going on, Ryd?”
“Oh yeah, well after we left you two lovebirds last night, Taylor and I went to that party.”
“Okay? Go on.”
“So Taylor was pretty wasted, if you couldn’t tell in the limo ride to the party. Anyway, she got pretty drunk and was all flirty and hands on with me—”
