This Star Won't Go Out

ARIELLE ROBERTS is a member of the board of directors of This Star Won’t Go Out and has been a member of Catitude since its creation in 2009. She is an optometry student from Miami, FL, currently living in Boston, MA, who loves nothing more than curling up on the couch at the end of a long day with a good television show and a hot cup of tea.

Arielle created the font made from Esther’s handwriting, used throughout the book, especially for this project.


ANDREW SLACK is co-founder and executive director of the Harry Potter Alliance (HPA) and on the board of directors for the This Star Won’t Go Out Foundation. As a fellow at the Nathan Cummings Foundation, Andrew is working on the Imagine Better Network: an unprecedented movement that goes beyond Harry Potter to all fandoms.

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Brandeis University, Andrew has written for both the LA Times and CNN, and been featured on NPR, the New York Times, and the front cover of Forbes.com. A former full-time comedian, he is known for his inspiring yet funny talks, including at TEDx, Harvard, and as keynote speaker at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum.


SIERRA SLAUGHTER was born and raised in New York and is currently studying film at school in Michigan. The biggest sections of her heart belong to Jesus, Will Smith, One Direction, and claymation.


DR. JESSICA SMITH is Attending Physician, Endocrinology, at Boston Children’s Hospital.


DESTINY TARAPE is a twenty-one year old nerdfighter who lives in the greater Seattle, Washington, area. Destiny has been a nerdfighter and part of Catitude for over five years and really misses being able to reach Esther at almost anytime of day—or night—online.
