Feel the Heat: A Contemporary Romance Anthology

“You’re out of breath. Were you having sex?”

“No. Not since lunch, like...” Stretched out in a lounger on their suite’s private patio, Maddie pulled the phone away from her ear and checked the time. “Like an hour ago.”

On the other end of the line, her best friend, Carissa, laughed. “You little hussy. I bet you two haven’t even left your room.”

Maddie grinned. They were on day five of their honeymoon and they’d definitely spent a fair amount of time exploring each other’s bodies, but they’d enjoyed plenty of Cabo as well. “Hey, we went zip lining yesterday. And diving the day before. We even went to the nature reserve. Granted, the monkeys fondling each other got Dan all hot and bothered, and he demanded we have sex right there, but...”

“For real?”

“No, I lied, there weren’t any monkeys—it was Dan fondling me.”

“Oh, my God, you’re bad.”

And you don’t know the half of it. “So, word on the street is that you and my brother-in-law will be enjoying a honeymoon sex marathon of your own in the near future.”

Carissa made a reflective sound. “Josh and I don’t need a honeymoon to do that.”

“Ugh, I’m never going to get used to the fact that you two now share a bed.”

“Please. You couldn’t ask for a better sister-in-law than moi.”

Maddie grinned. “Honestly, Car, I’m crazy happy for you guys. And my best friend becoming my sister is just a bonus.”

They shared another moment of gushy girl talk before Dan sauntered onto the patio in a pair of board shorts. His hair was wet from the shower and the damp skin on his shoulders and chest glistened in the sunshine. Putting a finger to his lips, he winked and dropped to his knees beside her.

Paying no mind to her attempt at conversation, he skimmed a hand up the inside of her thigh, fingertips unabashedly sliding beneath her beach cover-up. She bit back a hiss. He wasn’t seriously going to do this right now, was he?

“Listen, Car, I should probably let you go. I’d hate to keep you from your new fiancé. We can catch up on everything when I’m home in a few days.”

Dan grinned and dipped his mouth to her leg, following the path of the hand now toying with the dampened panel of her bathing suit.

Oh, God, he was going to...

Watching him with her lip clasped beneath her teeth, Maddie let her legs fall open, allowing him better access.

“Josh is at work, so I’m all yours. Tell me more about Cabo.”

This was so not a good time for chit-chat. Or was it? “Uh, it’s hot. And there are tons of gorgeous men.” Dan lifted a brow, pulled the fabric aside, and pinched her clit. She gave a half-laugh half-sob and arched into his touch. “Seriously, Car, you should see them. All buff and tanned. There was this surfer—” The pinch became a harsh flick and then his fingers speared hard inside her. “Oh shit...”

“‘Oh shit’ what? Was he that hot?”

Dan jerked her up and around, so her legs hung off the side of the lounger, spread open before him. Just as impatiently, he yanked down her bikini bottom. Right there under the Cabo sunshine with her best friend clueless in her ear.

Totally hot. Puerto Rican, too. He sorta looked like William Levy, but you know...not Cuban.” Bracing herself back on one arm, she lifted her ass and met Dan’s hungry mouth midair. He growled as he dove in, skipping any careful build up and going straight to the good parts, namely his tongue and his lips and his stubble, everywhere, all at once. “Sweet mother...”

“Oh, my freaking God, you’re having sex right now, aren’t you?”

“No!” Free hand twined in his hair, she gave her husband a saucy grin and his brown eyes glazed over with pure lust as he watched her watch him absolutely devour her. “I would never have sex while on the phone with you. That’d be...absurd.”

“Absurd? Holy crap, now I know you’re doing it. Wow. And eew! I am so hanging up.” Carissa ended the call, but not before Maddie heard her mutter “perverts”.

Dropping the phone, she tossed her head back and focused her attention on her husband’s expert mouth. “You are so damn good at that.”

“Mmm, when your wife tastes like heaven, it’s hard to be bad. I could lick you all damn day.”

“Much as I’d love that, it’s been a whole hour since you fucked me properly.”

“Demanding, aren’t we?” Chuckling, he made quick work of shedding his shorts and sliding in to the hilt. “Aah, my favorite place in the world. Even better than home.”

She leaned up and kissed him, deep and slow. “It’s yours. Always.”

“Hell yeah, it is.” Snagging her hand, he pressed it over his heart and proceeded to take everything she gave him.
