Tempt Our Fate (Sutten Mountain, #2)

I open the box, letting her look at the custom ring I’d spent hours designing with the jeweler. She gasps, her eyes widening at the cushion-cut pink diamond on a band of smaller diamonds.

“Pippa Jennings, will you marry me?” The words are barely out of my mouth before she’s catapulting her body into mine, her arms wrapping around my neck.

“Yes!” she screams, crying into my neck. “Yes, yes, yes,” she continues, her entire body shaking.

An overwhelming sense of peace settles over us. I wrap my arms around her even tighter.

“You feel that?” Pippa says into the crook of my neck.

“Yes,” I answer.

“It’s my mom. I just know it is. She approves,” she whispers.

I laugh. “Thank god.”

People around us cheer as I clutch the love of my life to my chest. It seems like everything slows down as we both embrace the moment. She cries, and I think I might cry, too, from the sheer magnitude of happiness overcoming me.

For the rest of my life, I’ll be thankful that this small little town brought me and Pippa together. And that both of us opened up enough to each other to tempt our fate.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Writing a book isn’t easy, but there were so many people who kept me going every step of the way while I was writing Pippa and Camden’s story. I’ll never be able to put into words how much I appreciate their constant love and support, but I’m going to try my best.

First, to you, the reader. I wish I could effectively put into words how much I appreciate you, but every single thing I’ve typed doesn’t even begin to share how much I love and appreciate you. It is you who is the lifeblood of this community. It is you that shows me endless support. You’re the reason I get to wake up every single day and work my dream job, and for that, I’m so freaking grateful. Thank you for choosing my words to read. Thank you for supporting me. To my husband, AKA Kat Singleton’s husband (iykyk), A-A-ron. I’d be lost without you. You’re behind so many things Kat Singleton. Thank you for always supporting my dream, even when it means working late nights every single night. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for your love and support and having you always in my corner. You’re a real-life book husband and I’m so thankful my sixteen-year-old self locked you down. I love you. Here’s to many more books (and late nights) together.
