Rapture (McKenzie Brothers, #2)

Lily finishes feeding Charlotte and fastens herself back into her nightdress before offering her to me.

I love babies, although I usually like the fact I can give them back when they get cranky, but right now Charlotte is asleep so I have no qualms about having a cuddle with her. This is how Sebastian finds me, when he walks into the room with his brothers.

Chapter 36

Sebastian

Seeing Carla cuddling my niece did something to my insides. She’d make a great mom and I’m sure we’d enjoy getting her pregnant. It was just the delivery, nine months later that would have me freaking out. I’d love to see Carla with my child growing in her belly, though, and to be able to watch her cuddle our own child like she had been with Charlotte back at the hospital would be a miracle. A delightful miracle.

Sighing, I glance at the woman beside me who isn’t far from my thoughts. She’s sleeping in the seat as I drive us out of town to a piece of land that I want her to look at. I’m not surprised she’s exhausted after the turmoil of yesterday and then the night of loving. I’m just glad she had an appetite like mine otherwise I’d feel guilty as hell today.

Her eye is slightly bruised along with her shoulder, but other than that she’s assured me she’s fine and just wants to carry on as normal, which is easier said than done. I can move on, but I won’t forget that I nearly lost her because of that bastard. He needs to pay.

Turning from the road, I start to slow down as the land I want to show Carla is coming up on our right. It’s about ten minutes drive from my parents’ ranch and is on the outskirts of McKenzie land. We each received an acre on our twenty-fifth birthday’s from our parents, which is spread around their ranch house. Not too close, but close enough.

Up until now it’s been the place I go to think. The one place in the world that is truly mine. Land I don’t have to negotiate for, write a contract for.

As I’m sitting looking around now, the light sprinkling of snow we’ve had recently has cleared up with the warm weather we’ve been lucky enough to get, Carla starts to stir in her seat, stretching her arms up, arching her back.

“Where are we?”

Ignoring her, I climb out of the SUV and run around to open the door, holding my hand out to her. “I want to show you something. Hop out.” I pull her out, giving her a hug before letting her go to retrieve the blanket from the back of the car.

Taking her hand, she raises an eyebrow in question to which I just smile and carry on walking through the trees to the clearing.

“Wow, Sebastian this is gorgeous. Where are we?” she asks, breaking free and spinning in a circle.

God, I love this woman.

“We’re standing in the back of our home.”

She stops spinning, giving me a quizzical look before it hits her what I mean.

“You’re building a house here?”

I walk towards her grinning, “No baby. We’re building a house here. You and me. I own this land, which is part of my parents’ place so we’re going to build a life here.”

I kiss her lips before taking her hand again and walk towards where I’ve planned on our kitchen being. The heart of a home, as my mom was forever telling us.

Feeling sick, I toss the blanket down before dropping to one knee.

Carla freezes without taking her eyes from mine as I hold out the engagement ring I’ve had since I was twenty-two when my grandmother passed away.

“I’m not good at speeches Carla, but I want you to know that I love you. I fell in love with you when I thought you belonged to my brother.” I give her a nervous smile. “I’ll always be true to you, and no matter where I travel through work, if you can’t come with me, I’ll always return home to you…and our children. Carla, will you marry me?”

Crying, Carla drops to her knees and throws her arms around me, kissing me all over my face, which causes me to lose my balance, sending us over with her sprawled on top of me.

She holds her hand out so I slide the ring onto her finger and kiss it. We’re officially engaged. I should be terrified, but I’m not, in fact I can’t wait to have her for my wife.

“I’ll never forget today. I couldn’t have imagined a more romantic proposal than on the grounds of our future home.” Then she kisses me. A gentle sweet kiss that has my dick hard and my blood boiling.

Carla sits up straddling me. “Make love to me Sebastian. Right here. Right now.” She shimmies down my legs and kneels between, unfastening my belt and buckle before pulling the zipper down freeing my cock.

She bends her gorgeous head and licks me from base to tip, swirling around the head with her tongue before taking me into her mouth and sucking.

I nearly bolt up from the ground in pleasure. She’s damn good with that suction. I take hold of handfuls of her beautiful brown locks as she continues to suck and lick me like an ice cream cone making my legs quiver and my balls pull up with a fire in them, wanting to explode.
