Chapter TWENTY-ONE
Gabe lay on the large oversized bed, glancing around the room, impressed with how Dina had fixed it up so quickly. Only a day early the room had been filled with twenty refugees, sleeping on blankets scattered across the floor. Determined to make the night special for her dear friend Gabe, Dina managed to temporarily rehouse the refugees, have the room cleaned thoroughly, and then adorned with flower petals and candles. She had outdone herself, Gabe thought.
“Rachel, everything ok in there?” Gabe called out impatiently, deciding he had waited long enough for this moment. They were to embark at first light on their journey and Gabe was quite certain he did not want to miss a moment of alone time with Rachel, especially if it involved her naked body.
“Just one more minute.” Rachel answered from behind the large wooden door.
“Come on, Mrs. Harwood, your husb—” Gabe’s words caught in his throat as the door opened and Rachel emerged into the candlelight. As she moved forward out of the dark doorway, the lighting cast a soft glow around her body, accentuating her curves.
“Is this ok?” Rachel asked, looking down at her body. Gabe stared intensely as his eyes travelled down over her flesh. She wore a spaghetti strap night gown made of satin and lace that shimmered when she moved. A slit was cut from the floor all the way up to the top of her thigh on either side, her flesh peeking out from beneath.
“Really? What would not be ok with what I’m seeing?” Gabe asked, mouth agape.
“I wasn’t sure if I looked alright. This gown belonged to someone Dina knows, it didn’t fit my hips so we had to make some modifications.” Rachel explained, rubbing her thighs self-consciously through the high slits.
Gabe scooted to the edge of the bed and motioned for Rachel to come near. She did as she was instructed, hesitating slightly as she came closer. Gabe reached out, taking her by the wrists he pulled her against him and wrapped his arms around her waist. Pressing his cheek against her satin covered stomach, he said in a soft, low and tender voice, “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.”
Rachel ran her fingers through his hair, Gabe not shifting his face, still clinging to her from a seated position. At last Rachel leaned down, whispering. “Thank you.”
Raising his head and slightly pushing Rachel back, Gabe stood and turned to the side, not looking away from her eyes. The way he stared at her with a deep and intense longing, unsettled her at first. It was a look she was not used to and caused all of herself consciousness to rise to the surface.
Taking her hands into his, Gabe could feel they had a chill to them. He rubbed them gently at first, before lifting them to his lips where he blew warm air on them in an attempt to warm them.
“I’m sorry. I guess these old stone buildings get pretty drafty.” Rachel explained.
“Stop,” Gabe replied, his intense stare softening. “Mrs. Rachel Harwood, you are perfect in every way. I want nothing more this night than to be with you and bring you just a small piece of the happiness that you bring to me every day. So no more I’m sorry, no more explanations, let’s just be together, enjoy one another.”
Rachel blushed; she, herself, had been looking forward to this night as well. It was clear Gabe was coming into this with much more experience, she was nervous she would disappoint him. Somehow he had this way to disarm her, put her at ease. She exhaled, all of her muscles loosening as she did.
Rachel looked back into Gabe’s eyes as she reached out and took hold of his shirt; she began to unbutton it, catching a glimpse of his bare chest. In an instant she saw a hint of a smile curl at the edge of his lips, the sight of which made her flutter. She slowly continued disrobing him, releasing each button from its hold. Once the job was done the white shirt fell open, exposing his chiseled physique.
Running her hands up his tight six pack, she lingered for a moment before continuing over his strong, broad chest. She moved her hands up to his shoulders, causing the shirt to slip off and fall to the floor. Gabe’s slight smile widened as he continued to allow Rachel to take the lead.
Her hands explored his warm chest for a few moments longer. With each new crevice she discovered, she would lean in and memorize the line with a small kiss. Her hands working their way down to the waist band of his pants that hung low on his fit body, revealing a glimpse of the rigid v-cut below his hips.
Gabe moaned in delight, a low throaty sound that vibrated through his chest, tickling her lips. Gabe reached out, pulling Rachel in, his intense gaze so full of passion it nearly made her melt. His lips met hers, the intensity causing her to tremble. Reaching up, she clasped her arms around his neck in an attempt to steady herself. He pulled away, pleased with himself as he heard her sigh, watching her eyes flutter in ecstasy.
Rachel tugged and pulled at the stubborn button of his slacks. The longer she took, the more increasingly embarrassed she became. Gabe growled a deep and almost silent laughter.
“A little help here.” Rachel replied, throwing her hands up in despair.
With great ease, Gabe slipped the button from its hold, dropping his hands back to his sides. Rachel stared at him puzzled. “Oh no, please, you were doing such a good job, you finish.” Gabe instructed, a huge grin across his face now.
Rachel couldn’t help but also smile, realizing how silly her frustration was. Eagerly, she slid down the zipper of his pants, allowing them to drop to the floor. Much to Rachel’s delight, there was nothing else beneath the thin layer of cloth, his naked body greeting her with clear delight.
Standing there, confident in his skin, Rachel suddenly began to doubt herself again. Gabe sensed her withdraw and quickly combatted the back step by reaching out and pulling her close once again. He pressed his warm lips to her, kissing her deep and long. Slipping his hand between one of the slits in her gown, he gently caressed the inside of her thigh before allowing his fingertips to explore inward.
Rachel cried out, her legs quivering from the pleasure. Pulling his hand away, all he could think about was seeing her glorious body. Yanking on the gown, he lifted it up and over her head, letting it fall to the floor. Gabe smiled, staring at her full breasts. Cupping one, he slipped her nipple into his open mouth. Rachel flung her head back, closing her eyes and enjoying every second.
Rachel looked away, not able to take the intenseness of his eyes. Pulling her chin towards him, he forced her gaze back into his eyes. I—Love—You, pulling his lips away, he mouthed the words, not uttering a sound except his heavy breathing.
“I love you, too,” Rachel whispered, her fears and anxieties lifting.
Gabe pushed against her, the warmth of his chest pressing up against her breasts. Leaning down, Gabe swept Rachel’s hair aside, kissing the part of her body where her neck and shoulder joined. His lips trailed slow, wet kisses down her shoulder, stopping just short of her left breast. She shook with anticipation.
Rachel’s knees suddenly buckled from the sheer desire overwhelming her. Realizing she was unsteady, he led her onto the bed, both on their knees. The exploration of bodies continued for hours; kissing, and touch, the two melting into one. When Gabe actually entered her, it was hard to distinguish where one body ended and the other began. By the morning both had had their thirsts quenched multiple times, but more than that, it was a completeness they felt. When it was finally time to pull away from each other and get ready for the day, a sadness rushed over them as if they were losing a part of themselves not being connected physically anymore.
Gabe looked forward to a lifetime of exploring her body, no matter how long or short that might be.
