chapter Six
“Um,” I struggled as I looked at each of them again. It felt completely wrong of me to treat them like they were nothing other than a piece of meat. I mean hell…when you go to a steakhouse, the cook doesn’t take you in the back and ask you which cow you’d like your Porterhouse from. “I…um…”
Archer saw that I was uncomfortable and chose for me. “Why don’t we start with Chris?” Archer smiled as he gently rubbed my back with one hand in a calming gesture. “He happens to be quite delicious and I think you’ll be more comfortable starting out with him than with Bethany.”
“Why? What’s wrong with Bethany?”
Bethany smiled knowingly at me as Archer explained. “Well, when a vampire feeds it can be a very emotional and seductive experience. You will experience intimate feelings toward your feeder, as they will you, and I don’t want you to start out with a woman and perhaps feel uncomfortable.”
My mouth dropped in surprise. Of all the things I was expecting him to say, that wasn’t one of them. Intimate feelings? Please, Lord, tell me I’m not going to get turned on while I’m eating and shamelessly rub myself all over these people. I will never get over the humiliation.
Archer chuckled as he read my mind. He took my hand and led me over to Chris. Bethany politely scooted over to the far side of the couch to allow Archer and I to sit on either side of him.
“Since this is your first time, we’ll have you feed from his wrist,” Archer patiently explained. Chris held up his wrist with a polite smile and offered it to me. I gently took it in my hands and dubiously stared at it. What if I hurt him?
“You won’t hurt him and there is no wrong way to do it,” Archer said gently. “You will sense his pulse immediately as you go to bite. It’ll direct you to the vein.”
I nodded my head and shyly looked up at Chris. “Um, thank you for the…food?”
Chris chuckled and smiled widely. “That’s a first for me… being thanked before the bite. You are very welcome. I hope you enjoy it.”
“You’re really nice. Thank you,” I whispered with a small, grateful smiled as I turned my attention back to his wrist.
I could no longer ignore the pounding of his heart and his appetizing scent. I ran my nose along the underside of his forearm as I took a deep breath in. I was picking up hints of his cucumber and melon moisturizer, the morning sun, and grass. Without another thought, I bit deeply into his wrist, my fangs finding his vein perfectly, and sighed in ecstasy as his blood gushed into my mouth.
His taste exploded on my tongue and I was blasted with so many different and unique tastes that it was overwhelming at first. I focused and tasted what I thought might have been the last thing he had eaten. I was picking up garlic and onion and… earthiness. I tasted the environment he had been living in and my brow furrowed as I tasted the nicotine he must have been second-hand inhaling on a near-daily basis. I had started to taste the vitamins he must have been taking when his heartbeat suddenly doubled and a deep, sensual moan sounded.
I opened my eyes to see him staring at me through hooded eyes as he slowly writhed in his seat. He was looking at me with such carnal need and I vaguely became aware of him rubbing his massive hard-on through his khakis.
I was so shocked by the display that I immediately retracted my fangs and sat up. “Oh… oh God. I-I’m sorry,” I said as I looked over at Archer with wide eyes. He was staring at me with much the same look Chris had.
“Why did you stop?” Chris asked, his voice sounding utterly disappointed and needy.
“I-I uh…,” I tried to explain but I had no words for how uncomfortable the scene had made me feel. Archer had warned me that I would have feelings for my “food” but that wasn’t the case. It was VERY apparent that my “food” had feelings for me, though.
“It felt so good,” Chris breathed as he sat up straighter. “I’ve never felt anything like it before. It was like being on ten tabs of MDMA at once.”
Archer’s brow furrowed as he spoke. “What do you mean? Is it different from when others of our kind feed on you?”
Chris emphatically nodded his head. “When the night walker’s feed, it hurts a bit. When you or the others like you have fed on me, it feels really good. I mean really, really good. But just now… with her… it was stronger than anything I’ve ever felt before, ten times stronger. I hate to say it, but I was seconds away from the best orgasm of my life when she stopped.”
Archer’s eyebrows rose as he looked up at me again. I just shrugged my shoulders and looked down at my hands. I was way too embarrassed by what had just happened to look anyone in the eye.
“Well, at least she didn’t kill him like I thought she would,” Oleif grumbled from the doorway.
“Your control is very impressive, Skye,” Archer praised. “Very impressive indeed. How do you feel right now?”
I rubbed my forehead and sighed before looking up at him. “Completely mortified… but still hungry.”
“You can feed from me again,” Chris offered quickly and a little too eagerly.
“Uh…” I bit my lip, “I appreciate what you’ve allowed me to drink so far but, I think I’d better not drink any more from you. I don’t want to take too much.”
“You can have as much as you want,” Chris smiled widely.
“I… uh… I taste smoke and nicotine in your blood and I’m really not a big fan of it,” I said honestly and tried not to feel bad when his face fell in disappointment. “I’m really sorry.”
“It’s okay,” he said with a sad smile. “I promise to stay away from smokers if you’ll consider giving me another chance to feed you in the future.” His eyes had taken on that ‘puppy-dog’ look and I nodded my head in agreement. I was never good at telling someone no when they looked at me like that.
“Chris, why don’t you go into the kitchen and have Trey prepare you a glass of orange juice while we finish up in here,” Archer said politely, clearly dismissing him. Chris looked back at me longingly before he stood up and reluctantly left the room.
“Well, now I’m eager to see what all the fuss is about,” Bethany smiled as she crossed her legs beside me.
“I think I’ll share Bethany with you if you don’t mind, Skye,” Archer licked his bottom lip as he stood up and then squatted down in front of her. “You don’t mind, Bethany dear, do you?”
“Of course not, Mr. Rhys,” she said sweetly. “What’s mine is yours.”
He took her left wrist while I picked up her right. Our eyes met and something electric passed between us. I may have been a newborn, but I knew that sharing food with another vampire was an intimate thing and one not done lightly.
Archer licked his lips slowly and my mind instantly thought of a hundred different things he could do to my body with that tongue. He smiled sexily as he read my mind and bared his fangs as he lowered his mouth to her wrist. I did the same, our eyes never leaving the others, as we bit into her soft, yielding flesh.
The first thing I noticed about Bethany’s blood was that it was very different from Chris’s. Her blood was rich and minerally. It was tangier, full of iron and… life. I sighed in ecstasy at the same time she did, but I paid her moans no mind. My thoughts were only of the ambrosial blood that was gushing into my mouth and the excitement of watching Archer enjoy the same sensations as I was.
Bethany’s heart rate skyrocketed and her blood pumped faster into my mouth as she squirmed on the couch. Her sounds had become distracting and I broke eye contact with Archer to see what she was going on about. Her head was thrown back and her eyes closed tightly as her body spasmed. It was obvious by the look on her face that she was in the throes of a powerful orgasm.
I pulled my fangs out with difficulty and licked the blood from her wrist as Archer did the same. I sat back on the couch, closed my eyes and took a few much needed deep breaths. Her blood had been utterly exquisite and by far the best I had tasted yet. I licked my lips and fangs, not wanting to waste a drop, as I basked in the satisfaction of my meal.
“That was amazing,” she whispered contentedly beside me as she tried to catch her breath.
“Please tell me I’m next,” Jason chuckled from the couch. “I could use a good orgasm.”
I heard Archer growl lowly and opened my eyes to see him flash to his feet as he turned to face Jason.
“Archer,” I whispered and he immediately turned back to me, his eyes were just starting to drain of their color. I guess someone didn’t like the way my bite had affected the male feeders.
I stood on wobbly legs and reached out for him. He was instantly there, his arms wrapped protectively around me, and I sighed as I shook my head, trying to clear the overwhelming urge to feed again.
My God… That was the most amazing experience of my entire life. Her blood… it was like tasting heaven. I didn’t want to stop, but I knew I should before I took too much, I told him silently as I looked up into his ice blue eyes
“Your control is astounding, Skye,” he praised in a soft whisper, his eyes shining proudly. “It is very rare for one as young as you to stop so readily. You are a remarkable woman… but I always knew that.”
“It is impressive,” Oleif conceded from his post by the doorway. “Ruarc will be happy to know she’s not a completely mindless monster after all.”
I glanced back at Oleif with wide eyes. Any kind of positive acknowledgement from him was shocking and completely unexpected, even if it was backhanded.
“Yes,” Archer said, gripping my hips tighter as he smiled down at me. “I think you should update him on her progress as soon as possible.”
Oleif grumbled his agreement and turned his attention to Bethany. “You’re done here,” he said, motioning with his thumb over his shoulder. “Join your other friends.” Bethany looked at Archer for permission to leave and he nodded his head as Oleif told her to hurry up.
I watched as Bethany swayed a bit upon standing and instantly worried that we may have taken too much blood from her.
“It’s not the blood,” Archer whispered in my ear, his cool breath tickling my skin, “it’s her nerves. She had one hell of an orgasm.”
I bit my lip and groaned as I looked back up at him. “So, do you think it’ll always be this way, me causing everyone I feed from to…” orgasm? I finished silently.
Archer shrugged his shoulders as he tried his hardest to suppress a laugh. “I have no idea.”
“This isn’t funny,” I hissed at Archer as I lightly swatted him on the arm. “This is a serious situation. I’ll be the talk of the town if word of this gets out. And Ruarc… don’t get me started on him.” A thought occurred to me and I buried my face in my hands. “Oh God, Archer! Everyone in the house is going to find out. I’ll be teased mercilessly!”
Archer got that faraway look in his eyes that he sometimes gets whenever he’s reading another person’s mind. He was quiet for a few seconds and, when he focused back on me, he tried not to laugh again. He failed miserably. “I think it’s safe to say the whole house already knows.”
I smacked my palm to my forehead and winced. I was mortified and knew I’d never be able to look them in the eye again. “Oh, that’s just great,” I groaned. “That’s just what I need to top off this whole vampire experience.”
“It’s not that bad,” Archer tsked reassuringly. “Jameson has the same issue sometimes when he heals, you know that. It’s not a big deal. The guys may josh you a bit, but the novelty will wear off soon enough.”
“Oh that’s right,” I suddenly remembered, “Jameson. He’ll know how to deal with this. Maybe I’ll call him later.”
“Um,” Archer sighed as he rubbed the back of his neck, “he can’t know you’re a vampire right now, remember? He’ll drop everything and catch the first flight home and we don’t want that. He’s been trying to get this record deal for over a year.”
“Shit,” I sighed. I had forgotten that he didn’t know I had been changed into one of them.
Jason cleared his throat behind us and we both turned around as he gave us a small wave. “Sorry to interrupt, but I’m still here. Do you still need me or would you like me to leave?”
I looked up at Archer and sucked on my bottom lip. “I’m still hungry,” I said with pleading eyes. “Can I have some more?”
Archer glanced back over at Jason with pursed lips before turning to me and jerkily nodding his head. “He’s all yours, just remember your control.”
My eyes were on Jason in an instant and I heard Archer sit on the couch as I flashed to the loveseat. I sat next to Jason and picked up his wrist.
“I hope you don’t mind, but I prefer the neck,” he smiled widely as he tilted his head, exposing the thick, pulsing vein running the length of it. My mouth watered heavily and it was all I could do to slowly lean into him and not pounce.
“The blood comes more readily from the neck,” Archer said gently. “You must swallow fast or your mouth will overflow and you’ll make a mess.”
I grunted my acknowledgement as I tried to find a comfortable position sitting next to him. Finally, I gave up with a frustrated huff and flashed to Jason’s lap, straddling him. Archer growled behind me but I didn’t care. I was only focused on one thing and that was filling my starving stomach with his delectable blood.
Jason gasped as I ran my nose up the length of his neck. Now I understood why Archer and Jameson always did that to me when I was human. You could completely smell a person this way; you could almost even smell their blood. Jason smelled like the tequila I was certain he had drank last night and the cranberry juice and fruit salad he had consumed for breakfast this morning, too. My nose was so sensitive that I could actually smell another tantalizing scent that he was starting to give off. It smelled like sex and it excited me even more.
I moaned at his arousal as I leisurely licked his pulsing vein, enjoying the sensations of each beat as it reverberated rhythmically on my tongue.
“Oh f*ck yeah,” Jason whispered his enthusiasm as he gripped my hips tighter to him; his manhood pressed thickly against my center.
I couldn’t wait another second to have him and fisted his hair in my left hand as I pulled his head further to the right and struck; sinking my fangs deep within him. He moaned loudly, as did I, when I swallowed the first pleasurable mouthful that was Jason’s life blood. I could tell right away that Jason had been a bad boy last night. His blood was heavily laced with alcohol and a massive dose of Tetrahydrocannabinol (I had been a college student once and was very familiar with THC).
His hands gripped my ass as he pulled me harder down on his lap. I involuntarily ground against him as I lost myself to the ecstasy of my meal. For all his naughty ways, Jason sure was delicious.
His heartbeat pounded all around me as he dry humped harder. I know I should have cared that I was letting a stranger get so intimate with me, but I was enjoying the blood so I figured he should be able to enjoy himself too. All too soon he came with explosive force as he shouted some other girl’s name.
I pulled my fangs out of his artery with great difficulty and flung myself back and away from him as quickly as I could. I was suddenly afraid that I’d pounce back on him and drink him dry. I was still hungry and the satisfied sounds he was making, coupled with the smell of his arousal, were almost my undoing.
Something inside of me had awoken during that feeding. Drinking from Jason had been vastly different than drinking from Bethany or Chris. The experience was much more carnal, animalistic, and primal. It had awoken the deepest part of my vampirism and ripped it to the forefront. The experience left me tingling all over and exceptionally turned on. I suddenly wanted to feed and f*ck until I couldn’t move anymore.
“F*ck,” Jason moaned as he finally opened his eyes and looked up at me. “That was amazing. I’ve never come so hard in my entire life.” I looked down at his pants and saw a massive wet spot slowly spreading.
I felt someone grab my hand and pull me further away from Jason. Without realizing it, I had started to drift back over to him. Archer turned me to face him and looked down at me, staring intently into my eyes. “Are you okay?” he asked. “Can you focus?”
I shook my head as I licked my lips. “Get him out of here,” I breathed heavily as I warred with my hunger. “Get him out of here right now, Archer.”
“Jason, thank you for coming but I need you to leave,” Archer said calmly, never taking his eyes off mine.
“But…” Jason started to say before Oleif cut him off.
“Leave and live or stay and die,” he said gruffly. I heard Jason scramble up off the couch and jog from the room and not a moment too soon.
