More Wicked Alphas, Wilder Nights: Sizzling Collection of Paranormal Romance (Wicked Alphas, Wild Nights Book 5)

Realizing that Cord was yearning for another child helped wash away much of her anxiety. He withdrew and strutted into the kitchen for a towel. She could watch his naked body all day long.

When he returned, he wiped her down, tossed the towel onto the wood floor, and scooted next to her. “What do want to tell me?”

Piper rested her head on his chest and snuggled close. “I’ve been moody lately, and I want to apologize.”

Cord lifted her chin. “Are you kidding? I’m the one who’s been out of sorts.”

“Is that so? I know why I’ve been a bit cranky. What’s your excuse?”

He looked off to the side then back at her. “This probably isn’t a good time to bring this up, but I can’t get it out of my head.”

“Tell me.” His serious tone worried her.

Cord stabbed a hand over his hair. “It might sound crazy, but I was thinking how wonderful it would be to have another baby.”

Her pulse beat fast. “You do, do you? And who would take care of this child?”

Cord pulled her close and ran a knuckle down her cheek. “I was thinking we could hire someone to help clean the house and pick the kids up from daycare.”

“Really?” She hadn’t wanted to ask because they both worked hard for their money, and she didn’t want to dip into their savings that was earmarked for the kids.

“I’m deadly serious. What do you say?”

“I say yes.” The hugs and kisses that followed were wonderful and welcome, but she had to tell him everything. “Remember, you’re the one who suggested we hire help.”

His brows pinched. “Why is that?”

“Because in a little over seven months we’ll be adding to our brood.”

She swore it took Cord three seconds for the words to sink in. “You’re pregnant?”

Joy slammed into her. “I’m pregnant.”

He scooped her up and hugged her hard. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I didn’t know until two days ago, and I was waiting for the right moment.” His grin was wider than the expanse between here and the mountains.

“You’ve made me a happy man. Do we know if we’re having one or two?”

She groaned. “Don’t even think the word twins.”

He laughed. “I’ll be happy with whatever we have.”

Piper had to be the luckiest woman alive. Who knew the day she met Cord Triggert, her life would become one big love affair?

A bonus scene to the Dresdan Coven series

Elaina swung her gaze from left to right, ready with dagger clutched in fist just in case another rogue charged her.

Her heart thumped wildly. “Where the fuck did they come from?” she asked.

She already knew the answer to that. The vampire rogues had come from out of nowhere. She and Vicq hadn’t made detection until the very last minute when they attacked full force and with haste. It was as if the things were out to murder and desecrate, but was this a spontaneous attack or were they deliberately targeted?

Vicq looked to the right of them at the forest where most of the vapor had gone after what was left of the rogues dematerialized and disappeared.

“They didn’t trail us here. I would’ve felt it while we were traveling. They were waiting in the forests,” he panted through fangs that hadn’t drawn back just yet.

His chest heaved up and down as he tried to dispel his aggression. His clothes were torn and tattered from the struggles. Elaina could sense by the hint of strong male pheromones in the air that his slow, meditated breathing wasn’t doing him any good or suppressing his anger.

Elaina wasn’t as strong as a vampire. After all, she was still human and this was the precise reason why D5 trackers always worked as a team. They never knew if they were going to encounter a dozen rogues or one lone powerful Dresdan. In this case, since there had been more than one rogue, Vicq fought the hardest during the attack to defend them both.

As a trained fighter herself, Elaina had gotten in a few stabs. She had weakened the creatures right before Vicq delivered each deathblow. Thus, they worked as a team. Even though they stood undefeated, nearly half of the rogues had gotten away.
