Hot Summer Love: A Multi-Author Box Set (Shifters in Love Book 2)

Alex’s hands slid across my back, pulling me toward him, until Jordan and I rolled onto our sides. Alex spooned at my back as Jordan slid out of me and the three of us wrapped ourselves around each other. I closed my eyes with a contented sigh and began to drift off to sleep, thinking about how wonderful life was.

After that horrible night at the arena, I awoke from unconsciousness to find Jordan and Alex hovered above me. I was tucked into my warm bed with both of my men. They told me everything I’d missed in the few hours I was out. The cut on my neck had only been a scratch and would heal without scarring.

Alex had been the one to shoot Alexander, and I held him while he cried silently for the mother and father he never really had. Then I turned to Jordan and did the same for him. He had chased down his father as well, and Lee was no longer in this world. I couldn’t say I was sad about his death, but I was heartbroken to see my men upset.

The deaths of their fathers were not what had them so emotional. It was more of what they had missed and never had with their parents. Jordan and Alex both promised to love and take care of Ava and me, making sure I understood that they were nothing like their fathers. Of course, I already knew this and told them so.

There were a few other people there that night that I hadn’t seen. The rest of Jordan and Alex’s team had taken down Alexander’s men and captured others of the community for questioning.

I met most of the team and thought they were a great group of shifters. The fact that they all changed into different animals was a surprise. I never thought anything like that could be possible. Life was a lot more interesting than I ever imagined.

Leo was absolutely adorable and Hawk was so funny. The way he picked on Terry had me laughing so hard, I almost wet my pants again. I could tell Terry would become a good friend. She was a badass, but had a sweet nature as well.

Teij had a very demanding presence, and I couldn’t stop blushing every time I looked at him. He had a very kind heart, though, and I could see how much his team respected him.

Paul was still with the Alpha Division, but on probation until proven he could be one hundred percent trustworthy. It helped that he turned over the name of the hit man that murdered Layla. Jordan took care of him.

I had mixed feelings about Paul, but he did help rescue my men, and I was thankful. There was just something about him that gave me pause. As I looked into his dark eyes, though, I could see he was suffering from something painful. I could only hope he found peace.

Bear came over to visit often. He was a good friend and even babysat for us when Jordan, Alex, and I wanted a have a night out.

We had moved into a new house not far from Liz. There was plenty of room to entertain our friends, although, I think they came by to see Ava more than the rest of us.

Life really was great. Jordan and Alex had decided to take some time off from the Alpha Division. They didn’t quit, for the job meant too much to them, but they both wanted time to spend with our new family.

Treated like a queen, I hardly ever had to lift a finger. It was relaxing and annoying. It got so bad, I actually had to beg to change a diaper. Alex and Jordan had laughed and handed over the dirty Ava. I never asked for that again. They even bought me a breast pump, so I wouldn’t have to get up in the middle of the night every time she cried.

They were wonderful fathers, just as I knew they would be. The men took turns holding and cuddling Ava and sometimes even playfully fighting over her. Their love for her shined so bright, it was blinding, and I was blissfully happy to see it.

A tug on my hand, brought my eyes open. Alex held my right hand and Jordan gripped the left. We were lying across the bed, still naked from our lovemaking, and I couldn’t stop my eyes from roaming over their hard bodies. They both chuckled, bringing a blush to my heated cheeks.

“I love you so much, Sam,” Alex said as he smiled down at me.

I smiled back. “I love you too.”

“My heart beats only for you, baby,” Jordan’s voice had me turning to look at him.

My smile widened at his sweet words. “Oh, Jordan, I feel the same. I love you.”

“Will you marry us?” They both said at the same time.

I gasped, looking back and forth between the two of them. They were serious and from the look in both of their eyes, they were nervous as well. They were so sweet.

“Yes, yes, of course!” I cried.

They each slid the rings on my fingers, one for each hand they were holding. I was trembling too hard to see what they looked like, though, I knew they were beautiful. Anything they got me was perfect in my eyes.

“How? How does this work?” I asked unsure.

“Well,” Jordan said, swallowing nervously. “We talked, and we feel like we should have a private ceremony, but it won’t be legal."
