Hot Summer Love: A Multi-Author Box Set (Shifters in Love Book 2)

“Nothing… it doesn’t matter anymore.”

Brock ran his hands up her body, stopping to slowly massage her breast through the dress. She arched her back, pressing into his touch. He pulled the straps of her dress down past her shoulders, peeling her bra to the side as he lowered his lips to one nipple. She hissed her pleasure, and he took her other nipple between his thumb and finger, rolling it while she cried out his name. He began to pull the straps of her dress down past her breasts, and Sky’s body tensed. She halted him with a firm hand on his wrist.

“I want to keep it on,” she breathed out, getting to her feet. She pulled her dress up past her hip, walked around to the back of the sofa, and bent forward. “Take me like this.”

Brock smiled and stood up, walking around behind her. She pressed her ass back into him, getting on her tiptoes to rub against his groin. He couldn’t wait to take her like this. Undoing his jeans, he reached into his back pocket to retrieve his wallet before letting the pants drop to the floor, hoping he had put another condom in there. Yes, there was one left. Thankful, he freed his rock hard length, already aching for that familiar feeling of Sky stretched around it. Brock slipped the condom on and leaned down to kiss her back before he positioned himself.

She pushed back against his hardness, welcoming him home as their breaths synchronized without trying. Brock hoped he could take it slow, but who was he kidding? She begged him to give it to her hard, and Christ, he needed that too. He gripped her hips and moved deeper, harder, faster, feeding off her cries of desire as they got closer. A shudder racked through Sky’s body and spread from her core until she had Brock making his way to a powerful orgasm. Thrusting one last time, he joined her in release. Sky called his name again, panting hard through her peak, legs weakened and buckling. Brock held her body firm against his as they both recovered. When she moved to stand, he pulled apart from her and turned her around for a firm kiss on her lips.

“Would you like some company? I can stay with you until it’s time to get Brianna. I’ll just need to take a shower before I go.”

Sky’s eyes lit up. “I’d love that. I’ll be back. I just need to use the bathroom.”

Brock followed her as far as the bathroom, admiring her ass the whole way there, and when she stepped inside, headed over to her bed. With a groan, he sat at the edge, feeling the exhaustion from lack of sleep. He couldn’t wait to sleep beside Sky for a few hours. Remembering his phone was in his jeans, Brock went back to the living room to fetch it. When he returned to her room, his eyes fell on Sky’s work shirt for some reason. It was laying on the floor near the bed, as though she had tried to toss it in the hamper but missed. Shuffling across the wooden floorboards, he picked it up to put it where it belonged.

A white card fluttered out from the breast pocket. Without thinking, Brock picked it up and read it.

He froze...

Then read the name on the card again.

It was impossible, but there it was.

Rhys Dillon.

What was Sky doing with a drug lord’s business card?

Sky splashed another handful of cold water on her face. She was going to do it. She had to. The time had arrived to come clean with Brock and tell him everything. He needed to know how she felt about him and what she had to have if he was expecting her to be there for him. And she was going to tell him everything about last night.

Brock was so distracted when he got to her place he hadn’t asked about the cocktail dress she had on. She’d arrived home only a few minutes before she heard his truck park outside, and was about to undress and shower when she decided to open her door and invite him in instead.

Sky closed her eyes tight. Last night had turned out to be an evening of confusion to start, with Rhys’ attempt at romance, which at some point gave Sky the clarity she had been looking for. Rhys was polite, charming and kind. Just as he had promised, he was the perfect gentleman. He took her to one of the finest restaurants in Reno, a place she had only heard of before. Six courses later, after a memorable meal, Rhys had gotten to know most everything about her. Everything except Brock… and something else she hadn’t shared with a soul for years.
