Aquarius - Mr. Humanitarian: The 12 Signs of Love (The Zodiac Lovers Series)

“What are you talking about?” Aiden smiled as he tossed his napkin over his lap, not wishing to get any stains on his suit when the food came out.

“I heard you asking someone out.” Perry grinned. “Someone new on the radar, huh? I was wondering when you were going to get back out there, settle down.”

“You just settled down yourself. You and Denise haven’t been together for even a month and now you want to dole out commitment advice.” He shook his head at the nerve of the guy.

“A month? Well damn. That’s a record for me,” Perry laughed, though it seemed forced. “I like Denise though; things are going good. But anyway, who is she? Do I know her?”

“Nah, I don’t think so. But she’s nice, you know?” He couldn’t help but smile as he looked down into his glass of beer. “She’s the epitome of beautiful. I really like her style…”

CHAPTER SIX

Beers, Breasts, and Beasts… Oh My!

…A few days later

She’d almost called him back and cancelled after they’d cemented their plans…

Men like Aiden were like chocolate cake—so damn tempting, bad for you, and you may regret the indulgence in the morning but you kept coming back for more…

Addison wasn’t certain why she’d even thought she could pull herself back from the brink. There was something taboo about the whole thing, but her curiosity had gotten the better of her and now here they were at the Bit Arcade Bar on 3rd Street. They walked hand in hand after playing several rounds of old school Pac Man and pinball. There was a Space Invaders game, too and she was duly impressed with his skill level. He stated he was rusty, but she couldn’t tell when he beat the latest and greatest high score. The man gave her butterflies whenever his fingertips caressed her palm, or she got a whiff of his cologne and aftershave. He just seemed so damn comfortable in his own skin. Casual, relaxed, relatable…

Suave. Yes, that was a good description of the man, too.

He makes me feel calm. So at ease…

…maybe too much at ease.

Her pussy wept as she studied the way his ass moved in his dark denim jeans. The mighty bulge in his groin that begged for her to stare a wee bit too long was drawing her attention once again. Shaking herself away from her perverted gaze, she cleared her throat and brought up something, anything to pull her dirty mind out of the gutter.

“I know you said you contacted Golden Farms on my behalf and they stated that the interview went well, but we never really got into the meat and potatoes, if you will, about where we go from here.”

“I actually have your report all written up. Had we not had this date, you’d be coming into my office tomorrow but I planned to go ahead and follow up with you tonight since we’re seeing each other. Hold on a sec. Let’s get those drinks we were talking about a while ago.” He tossed a smile her way before grabbing them both a cold beer from the bar. “Here you go.” He handed her the frosted mug and she yearned for the flavor and coolness of the liquid to hit her tongue. “So, now that you know that they liked you and want a second interview, we’ll get that scheduled, okay?” She nodded and took a sip. Damn, it was good. She hadn’t had a beer in months. “I think you’ve got a really good chance. You impressed them.”

He squeezed her free hand as they walked through the loud arcade side by side. Like this, she felt—dare she say it—happy. She polished it off then set it down on a vacated table. A casual drinker, she chose to indulge this evening, fall into the vibe. She relished the blissful, frenzied energy. People laughing, playing, competing, loving each other’s company.

Then, everything shifted when he looked down at her. She returned his gaze. He stood about 6’2, and though she was 5’9 in heels, he still towered over her as if she were a jewel that had fallen onto the floor by mistake. Without warning, he scooped her into his arms and kissed her, the warmth of his mouth consuming her. Her breath hitched, then she closed her eyes and let go. Tongues dancing leisurely along one another, he took his measured, delightful, rhythmic time. Like a tidal wave in slow motion…

Damn.

When he pulled away from her, she placed her hands around his face and brought him close again, not quite ready to turn him loose. The warmth of his caress along her back made her shudder as they pressed their limbs together, clothed flesh begging to break free from the confines of silly fabric.

“Oh, shit.” She lightly chortled as he released her once more. “Nice. You’re a great kisser.”

“Thanks. You’ve got some of the softest lips I’ve ever had the pleasure to sample. Your gloss tastes good, too.” He smiled down at her before landing another kiss, and then one more. When he pulled away, they were smiling at one another. She was scared to breathe, lest she break the enchanting spell.

“Tell me something. When did you realize you were interested in me?” She cocked her head to the side and batted her lashes, unable to resist flashing a flirtatious smile.

“After our first meeting, actually. I wish I would have asked you out right away, but I had to think about it first. This is not really something I am supposed to do. I mean… it’s not against any rules or anything but I imagine it’s not exactly encouraged, either.”

“Naturally.” She rose on tiptoes and landed a peck on his lips.

“I’ve never asked a client out before. But with you, well,” he said with a shrug, “I needed to take a chance. You only live once, right? Anyway, are you having a good time?”

She nodded and turned towards a large arcade game with flashing blue and green lights.

“Yeah, I’m having a great time.” The lights blinked over half of the man’s body, illuminating him as if he were made of electricity, bolts and buzzes, technical wizardry and out of this world, psychedelic frenzy. She fell into a sudden daydream as the beer in her system helped her sigh with relaxation. How beautiful. The arcade seemed to grow quiet, the edges of the world soft as she stared at them without blinking…

Those damn lights are so pretty, I can’t stop looking at them…

They reminded her of Christmas in her grandfather’s house when she was a little girl. Grandpa was all about the big light shows. He’d toil for days out in the cold stringing those lights. He didn’t care how bad the weather was; he was determined to go through with it because, to him, the reward far outweighed the labor.

Aiden drifted behind her like a wolf—and she the prey. She looked up at him, loving the look in his vibrant, green eyes… wanting, wishing, hoping…

She nibbled along her lower lip, inviting him in for the kill. He got a little closer. “Can I be blunt with you for a second, Aiden?” She began to step backward, her gaze seducing as she coaxed him into a corner with her.

“Yes, I guess so.” He offered a crooked a smile as he took the bait, coming to stand only a foot or so away.

“I want to take you home.”
