That seemed to bring her back to her senses as Carla pulled her hand away as though it had been burned. “It’s great to meet you, but I better go and find Ramon.” Carla turned tail and retreated back towards the marquee.
“I need some fresh air,” Sebastian murmured before heading off in the direction of the garage; obviously unaware he was already outside.
Lily turned and wrapped her arms around Michael before snuggling close.
“Are you getting tired, Lily?” Michael moved his hand up and down in a soft caress over his wife’s back and curve of her hip. “We can leave if you’re ready,” he said, hoping she was.
He’d had an amazing day, but all he wanted after the long day of festivities was to take his wife back to the honeymoon suite in the hotel he’d booked so he could make sweet love to her.
“Soon Michael. Soon.” Lily met Michael’s eyes. “I love you, Michael, and I’m so glad you married me today, because I have something to tell you, and you can’t get away from me now.”
What the hell? This couldn’t be good. “Do I really want to know this?”
“Oh yes.”
“Well get on with it. You’re killing me.”
“We’re having twins.”
Chapter 8

The minute ‘we’re having twins’ left her mouth, Lily watched while Michael’s face lost all color.
“Twins?” he stuttered, backing up. He fell down into one of the patio chairs as it came into contact with the back of his knees. “Are you sure?”
Lily held back her smile because she didn’t think he’d appreciate it right then. “Yes. I’m sure. After the sonogram, you went outside the room to call your mom. The doctor told me to buy two of everything.”
He ran his hands over his face. “Why didn’t she wait until I was back in the room to tell us?” he asked puzzled.
Walking over to Michael, Lily perched on his lap with his arms going around her waist as hers wrapped around his neck.
“She probably didn’t want you passing out.”
He opened and closed his mouth, nothing coming out. Lily never thought she’d see the day when he was left speechless.
“Hey, I’ve been looking for you two,” Lucien said walking up the steps to the porch then frowned when he saw Michael’s face. “What’s wrong? You can’t have screwed up already, especially with Lily still sitting on your lap.”
“Twins,” Michael announced.
“Twins,” Lucien repeated, not understanding what he was being told until Michael rubbed Lily’s belly.
Lucien met her eyes and the minute he realized what they where talking about his eyes opened wide. “Twins…two babies! God. Does mom know?”
“No. I’ve only just told Michael.” She snuggled into Michael who was starting to get some color back into his cheeks.
“I like babies. Two is good. That means I can have one,” Lucien said grinning like an idiot.
Lily and Lucien stared at Michael waiting for his reaction – there wasn’t one. Michael returned Lucien’s grin, kissed Lily briefly on the lips and stood up, putting her back on her feet.
“You, my brother, can go and find your own woman,” Michael told him.
Rolling her eyes, Lily walked over to Lucien giving him a hug, as his hand crept down and landed on her butt. Pulling away, she smacked him on the back of his head. “Stop trying to get a reaction from him.”
“Why isn’t it working?” Lucien frowned.
“It’s not working brother, because I’ve finally realized you both really do look at each other as brother and sister. So I have nothing to worry about, plus I trust Lily,” Michael pulled her into his arms. “I should have trusted her to begin with, which I regret.”
Lucien stood in front of them shaking his head, obviously still in shock at their announcement. He needed someone to build a relationship with. He needed someone who wouldn’t flinch when they glimpsed his scars. Lily had someone in mind. Unfortunately, Sabrina was pretty strong willed, and against relationships, but she’d see.
“Lily, where’d you go?” Lucien asked.
Giving him the smile she used to get what she wanted, and up to now Lucien hadn’t been able to resist, she said, “I was just thinking about the kind of woman you need.”
His eyes widened in shock. “Now Lily, we’ve been through this before.”
Ignoring him, she continued as she counted the points on her fingers, “She’d have to be strong willed, because you’re a pain in the ass at times. She’d have to have curves, a great personality.” Lily paused, while she considered whether to speak the next part out loud. What the heck. “She’d have to have a lot of stamina considering you haven’t had sex in ages.”
She grinned as he really did give her the evil eye, while she felt Michael go still against her.
“I need a drink,” Lucien mumbled.
He turned, shaking his head and followed the path to the bar.
“You, my gorgeous wife, are going to get in trouble one of these days teasing Lucien.”
