No Limit

We stepped into the elevator and I smiled. “Your heart’s still hurting; I understand that. And thank you for the compliment. At least you didn’t call me cute. I hate that.”

The elevator door opened and he chortled lightly. “My wife used to say the same thing. When I first met her, I told her she was cute. The look she gave me!” He shook his head and looked as if he was picturing her face.

Opening the door to his SUV, he helped me in. “I know you’re hurting now, but one day it won’t be so bad. When that time comes, don’t feel guilty about opening your heart again. You deserve to find happiness.”

“Maybe one day I will.”

Three days had passed since my night with Mark. Jason and I switched hotels the day after and decided to stay at the Bellagio since that was where Drake and his people liked to frequent the most. Diane called first thing Sunday morning to see if I was alright. Even though she woke us up at six in the morning, it was endearing to know she cared.

The only problem I had with Mark’s story was that all the girls who’d been sent to him were dead. His story was heartbreaking, but I didn’t have the proof to back it up. On the positive side, he let me go and took me home just like he said he would. Not to mention, there weren’t any other prostitutes missing.

Putting his arms around my waist from behind, Jason moaned and bit my ear. “Why don’t we go out and see the city tonight?”

“Like a date?” I asked, grinning wide.

He turned me around and I melted under his stare. “If that’s what you want to call it. We have four more days until I’m sure you’ll be paired up with that worthless cocksucker, so I figured we could have some fun to get my mind off of it.”

“Your mind? What about mine?”

Lowering his hands to my ass, he squeezed and pushed his arousal into me. “Don’t worry, I know how I’m going to keep you occupied.”

“First, we need to get something to eat. I’m famished and I need my energy if I’m to keep up with you tonight.”

He smacked my ass and pushed me toward my room. “Get ready so we can come back and have some fun. I have a new game I want to play.”

“Oh yeah? Does it involve taking off clothes?”

Licking his lips, he lowered them to mine and bit my lip. “Most definitely. And you can’t forget touching . . .”

My insides clenched just thinking about it. I kissed him quickly and backed away. “Give me about fifteen minutes and I’ll be ready.”

I headed toward my old room. The only thing in it was my luggage, since I’d been sleeping in Jason’s room. Digging through the bags of clothes Diane gave me, I pulled out the dress she liked so much. It hit above my knee, flaring out at the waist with colorful flowers and a belt. It was actually very pretty. Instead of wearing a shit ton of makeup, I applied a little mascara and lip gloss.

When I left the room, Jason was already dressed in a pair of dress slacks and a polo shirt, holding his phone. He hadn’t seen me yet so I approached slowly. “Yes, that would be great. We’ll be down in fifteen minutes,” he said into the phone before hanging up.

“Fifteen minutes? Where are we going?”

He turned around and his eyes went wide. “Damn, babe. You’re so beautiful.”

“Thanks. You don’t look bad yourself.”

“You ready to go? I figured we could eat dinner in the restaurant downstairs. It’s actually supposed to be one of the best places to eat in all of Vegas.” Holding out his arm, I took it.

“Let’s go then.”

We walked to the elevators and rode it all the way to the bottom. The lobby was gorgeous with its flower display on the ceiling. I could stare at the colors for hours if I had the time. When we got to the restaurant, it was packed. “How did you even get a reservation?” I asked as he pulled us through the crowd.

He looked back at me and winked. “I have my connections, firecracker.”

Luckily enough, we didn’t have to wait and were seated at a private table. “Would you care for a cocktail?” the waitress asked.

“I’d like a glass of Riesling, please,” I said.
