Fatal Felons (Saint View Prison #3)

When I couldn’t hold it in anymore, I stared down at him. I jerked inside his mouth, deep spurts of hot cum sucked from my tip. He worked every last drop, taking it all until I was completely spent.

He wiped his mouth on the back of his hand as he stood. Then he kissed me, letting me taste myself on his tongue. His kisses were deep and drugging, and if I hadn’t just been so thoroughly blown, I might have come again.

He pulled away and picked up the rods. “Should have told me that’s all it took to get you relaxed. I could have done that back at the cabin.”

He went to walk away, but I caught him by the wrist, spinning him back around and walking him backward until I had him pushed up at the tree I’d indicated earlier. I reached a hand between us, palming his erection over his shorts. “You didn’t come.”

The rumble of a car froze us both, but the car that jolted up the drive was Rowe’s, Mae behind the wheel.

Rowe grinned at me. “Someone has to be able to get up for her. And judging by how much cum you just sent down my throat, it ain’t gonna be you anytime soon.”

The thought of Mae’s sweet, soft curves, so different to Rowe’s hard lines, twitched at my dick. “Wanna bet?”

“Wanna prove it?”

Fuck yeah, I did.

Heath and I were still messing around, joking and shoving each other out of the way in order to get to Mae first. She was just climbing out of my car when we got there, her long blonde braid falling down her back, a cropped white top showing off a sliver of her belly when she twisted at our shouts.

My dick, still semi-hard from everything Heath and I had been doing in the woods, kicked to attention once more at seeing her. I waited for her sunshine smile to spread across her face and light up her eyes.

It didn’t come.

I stopped.

Heath glanced at me, confused, and then over at Mae. Instantly, he realized the same thing I had. He stopped dead as well.

“What’s wrong?” he demanded.

She didn’t try denying it. “It’s Liam.”

I fought down a wave of panic. They knew. The cops had worked out that Liam and Mae and I had helped Heath escape. I knew Liam wouldn’t have said anything to implicate us, but if he’d been arrested, it was only a matter of time before they knew who else was involved. “We need to get Heath out. If he’s caught—”

But Mae shook her head. “It’s not that. I just went to Liam’s apartment. He’s there…but he’s not. I think we have a big problem.”

I hadn’t been breathing. I sucked in a few deep breaths, and Mae filled Heath and me in while we took the groceries into the cabin. I made sure Mae had the lightest bags, and Heath and I split the rest between us so it only took one trip.

In the kitchen, Mae put her bags down on the countertop but made no move to put them away. “I went to Tori’s place, but Will wouldn’t let me speak to her. Then Liam was…not Liam. I’ve never seen him that drunk and angry.”

Heath drew her to his chest, soothing the palm of his hand over her hair. All thoughts of anything sexual had flown out the window the moment we’d seen her expression. My erection had died, and now all that remained was the urge to hold her.

“I should go over there. He doesn’t need to be feeling guilty about me. I’m fine.” I picked up my phone and called Liam’s number, but unsurprisingly, there was no answer.

“He doesn’t need to feel guilty about me either,” Heath agreed as I put the phone down. “I know he did his best. The judge had it out for me as much as the cops did. I was never going to get a fair trial. That’s not on him.”

“He probably knows that, deep down.” Mae clutched Heath a little tighter. “But with his dad coming back…or his brother, I guess, and finding out what his grandfather did to his mother…” A tear dripped down her face. “He’s strong, but no one is strong enough to endure that sort of family secret alone.”

I took several cartons of milk from a reusable cooler bag before folding it. “Give him some space tonight. I’ve got to go to work tomorrow morning anyway, and presumably so does he. I’ll check in at his office on my way. If he’s not there…”

“He’ll be there.” Heath did his best to sound reassuring, but it was clear he wasn’t one-hundred-percent sure either.

He let go of Mae and gripped the edge of the countertop while she busied herself putting the milk into the refrigerator.

I couldn’t stand the worry on her face. She didn’t look reassured at all.

I couldn’t have that. “If he’s not there, I’ll go to his apartment myself and drag him back here. Just give him tonight.”

“You sure that’s what he needs? I don’t want him thinking we don’t care.”

I smiled softly at her. “Nobody could ever think that about you. You care about everybody and everything more than any person I’ve ever known. He’ll probably call once he’s sober and realizes what he’s said.”

She lifted one shoulder. “Maybe. I know I shouldn’t but can I stay with you guys tonight?”

“As if you even need to ask.”

The three of us slept on my mattress on the floor, both me and Heath tucked around Mae’s smaller frame.

When I picked my phone up the next morning, I was convinced I’d find a message from Liam, full of hungover apologies, but my screen was blank. Mae seemed equally disappointed when she checked her own cell. Heath still slept deeply, one arm banded around Mae’s middle, her back to his chest. My heart gave an uneven thump.

“What?” Mae whispered.

I forced a smile and leaned in to kiss her soft lips. “Nothing. Go back to sleep, it’s still early.” I smoothed the frown line from between her eyes. “Let me worry about Liam, okay?”

I showered quickly and dressed in a fresh uniform. Mae was asleep again, so I moved quietly around them, trying not to panic about the way feelings were creeping in when I looked at her.

And at him.

Despite her even breathing, telling me she was asleep, I brushed a kiss over her forehead.

“Where’s mine?” Heath’s sleepy voice held a hint of laughter.

I briefly considered kicking him. He was right at foot height. But I didn’t want to disturb Mae. “See you later, asshole.”
