Celestial Beginnings (Nephilim Series)

chapter 18

Malachi woke, and reached over to pull Trinity against him. Ever since his resolve to not let her go, he has had a constant need to be close to her. She probably figured that out last night when he hardly let her get any sleep. He smiled when he thought about the last time he reached for her and she outright punched him in the chest and mumbled something about sleep. When she mentioned something about vice grips and his balls, he decided she might need a small intermission. He looked at the clock, and smiled as he thought that two hours was enough.

Her back was against him, and he leaned down to nuzzle her neck. She smelled of her lavender body wash along, with her own distinct aroma. The smell of sex was still in the air, and Malachi smiled, thinking that all his favorite scents were rolled up into one perfect package.

He propped himself up on an elbow and used his free hand to lightly caress her body. With the sunlight pouring through the window, he could now see the evidence of their night together. He caressed her hip and ran his fingers over the bruises from his grip. Leaning down, he brushed his lips over them and watched as they slowly disappeared. The image made him think back to the night before. It was as if neither could get enough of the other. Whether he was gentle or rough, slow or fast, nothing was too much for her. He thought how he had definitely found his match in every way. Not because his essence was with her, but because it was his Trinity.

When he moved his hand to caress her breast, she gasped and sleepily turned over onto her back to face him. She flashed him a genuine smile that he would never tire of seeing.

“Hi there.” She whispered.

“Hi yourself. How you feeling this morning...or should I say almost afternoon?” He leaned down to place feather light kisses against her skin.

She stretched underneath him and was about to say something, but her stomach beat her to it and let out a loud rumble.

There was a moment of silence before they both started to laugh.

“I guess that answers my question.” He gave one last kiss to her stomach before maneuvering himself off the bed.

“Where are you going?” The anxiousness in her voice made him pause and turn back around.

“Getting sustenance for m’ lady, of course.” Leaning down, he gave her a kiss that would keep her missing him until he returned.

Pulling away to get some pants on, he was acutely aware of her eyes on him. When he turned around, sure enough, she had propped herself up on her elbows and was staring at him.

“Like what you see?”

“Mmmm, why don’t you get back in bed and I’ll show you what I think?”

“You’re an insatiable little thing aren’t you?” He couldn’t help but laugh when she smiled sweetly up at him.

“Only when it comes to you, Sir.”

He leaned back over her and caressed her face. “Give me just a few minutes, so I can feed you something. Then we can start all over again. Maybe I can get you to scream even louder than last night. That will really give your friend Nicole something to talk about, now won’t it?”

He watched as her cheeks heated up into a glorious shade of red, and she treated him to one of her small giggles. She looked happier than he had seen her in a while. That was until she opened her eyes and mouth real wide and jumped out of bed.

“Shit! Shit, shit, shit!”

This immediate change had him confused and reeling. Nervous that he had missed something that was wrong with her, he rushed up toward her. “What? What is it?” Patting her down, he tried to find the problem. “Are you hurt?”

“No, I’m fine.” The words made him stop and breath, before concentrating on what else she was saying.

“…Nicci. She’s really sick. I was supposed to go over there last night and check on her, but with everything that happened…” She was bending over and throwing her clothes left and right. “Pants, where are my pants?”

Ignoring the enticing vision of her bending over naked, he walked over to her dresser and pulled out her favorite pair of slick pants, then opened another drawer and grabbed a long sleeve t-shirt. He grabbed her hand to stop her frantic search, and placed the clothes in her arms. Looking down at her bundle, she visibly relaxed and stood on her toes to kiss his cheek.

“Thanks.” She whispered.

“You’re welcome.” He reached up and smoothed hair out of her face. “Is she really that bad?”

She bit her lip and nodded. “I’ve never seen her like this.”

He didn’t like the idea of her going over there and possibly catching whatever Nicole had, but he understood the importance of taking care of the people important to you. “Ok, just be careful. If I’m needed, just come and get me.” The unspoken meaning did not miss her. If she needed him to help heal her and risk being exposed, he would do it. “You go check on your friend, while I make us breakfast.”

With one last parting kiss, he left her to go downstairs and start cooking while she got ready.

Forty minutes later, a continental breakfast was on the table and there was still no Trinity. What if something happened to her? The thought was no sooner out of his head, before he was up and moving toward the door. Before he got there, it opened and a bleak looking Trinity walked in.

“What’s wrong? Is she okay?” He hated the look on her face.

“No change, really. She’s still sort of out of it. She didn’t even remember me saying that I was coming over last night. I decided not to tell her everything that went on. There’s no point in upsetting her right now.” Trinity sat down at the table, deep in thought.

Malachi knelt down on the floor next to her chair. “Do you need me to go check on her?”

Trinity swallowed and finally looked at him. She pursed her lips and shook her head. “I don’t know. It could just be a bad case of the stomach flu. Let me check on her tonight and we’ll see.” Trinity adjusted herself in the chair to start eating. “Anyways, while I was there, I cleaned her place for her. I’ll bring her over something to eat later and go over everything again. She always hated an un-kept house; it just shows how bad she is by not being able to clean up after herself.”

She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply, smelling the food. “It smells so good in here, and everything looks delicious. Thank you Malachi!”

With that, he stood up and brushed his lips across her forehead. “Eat up.”

Trinity ate about half a plate less than what he’d expected. “Is something wrong with the food?”

“Oh no! Everything is great. I’m not a big eater to begin with, you know that.”

“But when was the last time you ate?”

She chewed on her lip as she thought for a moment. “Breakfast yesterday.”

“You’re kidding me. Let me guess, it was one of those ‘barely there’ breakfast bars you eat.” He didn’t understand how she had managed to not eat for over twenty four hours and not realize it.

“Ha Ha! No actually, Gemariah took one look at it and tossed it out the window. He said he was feeding the birds.” She laughed at the memory. “Then he gave me his breakfast to eat.”

Malachi smiled, having no trouble picturing his friend saying that, but to give up food..? “He must really like you. No one can get food out of him. In fact, he steals everyone else’s.”

There was that lovely blush creeping up her cheeks. “He called me “Mal’s girl”, that’s why.”

Standing up, he started to clear the table. Was there any way to get this grin off his face? Mal’s girl? It had a nice ring to it. No more running, no more being alone. As he washed the dishes, he handed them off to her to dry. So this is what normal felt like, he thought. He stood there and tried to enjoy the moment and ignore the inner voice that told him she would eventually have to pass on. Then he’d be alone all over again.

The comfortable silence stretched on until Trinity spoke up. “Malachi…there are still some things we need to discus.”

By the sound of her voice, he knew she wasn’t going to ask about their plans for the day or what his favorite book was. He pursed his lips together, but nodded his head in acceptance.

“How can you heal people? Are you into witchcraft or something?”

“If only it were that simple.” He mumbled more to himself than anything. Abandoning the rest of the dishes, he dried his hands and made his way into the living room, with her close on his heels.

“What did you mean by that?”

Malachi swallowed down the lump in his throat and started to pace back and forth in front of Trinity who tentatively sat down on the couch. Should he tell her everything, or the bare minimum to get him by? The last thing he wanted was for reality to finally sink in, but he knew it had to happen eventually. He sat down next to her, resolved to tell it all.

“I cannot stress enough, how imperative it is that you keep this quiet. You can’t tell anyone, not even Nicole. Lives would be in danger if word got out.” He had to make it clear first, before going any further.

Shaking her head, she scooted closer and grabbed his hand. “Never. I swear.”

“It’s going to sound crazy, but you have to have an open mind, okay?”

“Babe, I have seen your hands glow when they touch me and skin fuse back together as if nothing had happened. My mind could not get any more open.” She squeezed his hand in reassurance. “It’s okay, just tell me.”

Taking a deep breath, he began trying to explain something he had never before put into words. “Have you ever heard of the angels that left heaven and settled at Mt. Herman? Most refer to them as the original fallen angels?”

She thought for a moment. “I think I’ve heard of this before. Didn’t they leave heaven to…um…” Waving her hand in front of her, she started to blush. He found himself chuckling at her bashfulness. How she could still be shy with him, after everything they had done together, he didn’t know.

“Sex. Yeah, they “fell” from heaven to fornicate with women, and for the respect they got from the humans. Anyways, they were warned that the longer they stayed on earth, the more they were susceptible to evil overpowering them. Like the arrogant asses they were, they didn’t listen.” Malachi couldn’t keep the bitterness from his tone.

Trinity tilted her head to the side and gave him a skeptical look. “Okay, but what does something that supposedly happened…what, thousands of years ago, have to do with you?”

“4400 BC… give or take anyways, and I’m getting to that.” Malachi continued. “Have you ever heard of a nephilim?” He wasn’t expecting her to, but he had to ask. No one ever remembers them.

When she shook her head in denial, he took a deep breath and continued. “That’s the name that was given to the children that unexpectedly happened. They were half angel, half human, and evil to the core. They were big and inhumanly strong. Well…” He ran his fingers through his hair. Here goes everything. “…they obtained certain abilities that were passed to them from their angel side. These ranged from seeing the future, telepathic abilities, controlling others emotions, and…and being able to heal others.

Trinity let go of his hand, and immediately he felt the loss. Rubbing her head, she was obviously trying to sort through all the information. “You’re not telling me that your father is a fallen angel, are you?”

“No.”

“Good, because…” Trinity didn’t even get to finish before he clarified.

“My Great Grandfather is one.”

She just stared at him in shock, until her face broke out into a grin and she started to laugh. “Oh, you’re good. You almost had me there.”

He knew she wouldn’t believe him. It sounded crazy to him as well. Abruptly he stood up and started pacing again. When she saw his reaction, she immediately stopped laughing. “Oh my, you’re serious?”

“Open mind Trinity, open mind.”

“Oh.” She started to chew on that lower lip again in concentration. “Say this is true...”

“It is.”

Trinity continued as if he hadn’t spoken. “How is that even possible? You’re thirty two years old. How long ago was your grandparent born, or even your parent for that matter?”

When he stopped pacing, he dropped his gaze to the ground. She knew something was up by the sudden change in him.

“What? You are thirty two, aren’t you?”

“Not exactly.”

“Well how much ‘not exactly’ are we talking about?” She used air quotes to emphasize her point.

Malachi squared his shoulders and looked her strait in the eye. “I was born in 1685. I’m 328, Trinity.”

She was stunned into silence, and eventually sagged onto the back of the couch. He watched as she shut her eyes and took several deep breaths.

“Say something.”

She opened her eyes and glared in his direction. “What would you like me to say? I’m on the fence here, Malachi. On one hand, I want to believe you, but on the other, I want to call the closest mental institution so they can give you your own nice little padded cell.”

Malachi pulled up the stool so he could sit and face her. “Why would I lie to you?”

“I don’t know.” She shook her head, but he noticed her eyes starting to tear up.

“Just let me tell you my story, okay? Then I will answer any questions you have.” He grabbed her hands that were in front of her, and was relieved when she didn’t pull away.

When she nodded her acceptance, he began slowly. “My great-grandfather was one of the original fallen angels. He, like the rest of them, took on his human form to be able to mate with a human female. Because of this, my grandfather, Isac, was conceived. He was a nasty excuse for a man, pure evil. They say he was twenty feet tall and could knock down trees with just a swipe of his arm. Some reports say that he had an extra row of teeth needed to crush the bones of the victims he chose to eat. Somehow, I think that might have been a myth made up to scare children.”

“Anyway, he made it to be 2,047 years old before he was shoved into a volcano out of spite.” Trinity’s eyes grew to the size of half dollars at his statement.

“Who would do something like that?”

“Do not have pity for that man. All nephilims were born evil, but some were worse than others. Reports say that he was one of the worst ones out there. Many people wanted to have the chance to off him, but apparently it was my grandmother, also a nephilim, that had the privilege.”

At her scandalized look, he jumped to explain.

“Yeah, what a great family tree I have. I guess he over powered her one day and raped her. That was why she did it, but it was also how my mother was conceived.”

He tried to keep his emotions controlled, but it was always hard when he talked about the woman that gave birth to him. There was always mixed feelings when it came to her. Something must have shown on his face, because she squeezed his hand, letting him know that she was still with him.

I’ve been told that Leah, my mother, was a kind-hearted person. She was still taller than most humans at 13 feet, but lived in the mountains so she wouldn’t have to try and blend in with a town’s population. Researchers have done studies on why some second generation nephilims were not as evil as the first, and they’ve chalked it up to the human genetics were slowly taking over. They were still just as strong and just as fast, but smaller with smaller aggression levels as well.

Trinity spoke up in a tiny voice. “You said your mom passed away. How old was she when she died?”

He didn’t look up at her, but stared at their clasped hands. “4,375.” He noticed her subtle flinch but chose to ignore it.

“How long are you going to live?”

“Until God seems fit to take me, just like everyone else.”

“You know what I mean.”

“We can only be killed when our hearts are destroyed. My mother stayed away from civilization, so she stayed alive the longest.”

“We? Who’s ‘we’?”

He inwardly groaned, not wanting to get to that part yet. “My team, we belong to an organization that has numerous nephilims all over the world, fighting against all things evil.”

Her eyebrows came together. “So…you don’t work for a protection agency?”

“Yes, but not in the way you’re thinking.”

“You mean the way you lead me to believe?” She was angry for his deception and he couldn’t blame her.

“Yes”

“Was anything you told me the truth?” With this, she tried to pull her hands away, but he wasn’t letting go.

“Yes! I tried never to outright lie to you if I didn’t have to. I am still the same person you fell in love with, and I was not lying when I told you that I loved you.”

“Ok, and how many women have you told that to in all your, what is it, 328 years?”

“One, two as of last night.” He was not going to lie to her anymore. “I was twenty and thought the sun rose and set around her. Now I know that I was being young and stupid, because I can never remember feeling this out of control with her. It feels like I’m spinning at warp speed with nothing to hold onto. All it takes is one look from you to make my heart speed up. That’s how you make me feel.”

She gave one of her shy smiles he loved so much, and took a deep breath before returning her hands to his.

“I need to know. When you say, evil of all kinds, what do you mean?”

He hated to inform people about that. This is one of the situations where the saying “ignorance is bliss” is actually true. Deciding he had already gone so far, he couldn’t stop now. “There is a war of good versus evil going on as we speak; God and his army, Satan and his. You’ve probably heard all about it in church, but it’s no joke. Demons of all forms terrorize mankind in the hopes to turn people over to their side; it’s the whole “evil breeds evil” thing. They possess people or corrupt souls that were already close to crossing over. Sometimes they even cross over and change forms to blend in and cause havoc that way. The corporation I work for assigns nephilims on different missions to prevent this as much as possible.”

“Wow, there are so many questions to that.” She thought for a minute. “So all your team members are nephilims too? How old are they?”

He laughed. “Let’s just say, I’m the baby of the group.”

Her mouth formed a perfect “O” until it transformed to one of confusion. “No offense, but how did you become head of the group, if you’re younger than everyone else. Wouldn’t age be a factor in that?”

“They like to have an exalted nephilim as leader of the groups.” The bitterness was not something he could hide. He liked being head of the team, but sometimes wondered if he really deserved it, or was it just his DNA.

“How is that different?”

“An exalted one has one parent that is a nephilim and the other is an angel or a demon. Only Gideon and I are exalted.”

“Why is he not in charge? Once again, no offense.” She added quickly.

Malachi sighed. “It’s not for his lack of trying, but it’s because he has a demon for a parent while I have an angel. The people in charge consider him a more volatile risk.”

“Your father was an angel?” She asked in definite shock.

“Yeah. I don’t remember him. He met my mother when he saved her from a pack of wolves one day. They saw each other here and there after that. He never stayed long enough on earth to be overly corrupted. Anyway, she became pregnant with me. When I was five, she gave him the option to finally stay with them or not to come back.” Malachi shrugged his shoulders, trying to show indifference. “He chose heaven.”

Trinity’s voice was entirely sympathetic as she reached up to caress his face. “Malachi, I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t be. I don’t even know his name. All he told my mother was that he was a prince in God’s army, and his name was not important. She was okay with that, so whatever.” He shrugged again. “Plus, who wouldn’t choose heaven if given the choice?”

“Me. Not if my family was somewhere else.”

He gave her a small smile. “That’s nice, but you have no idea. I heard it’s very alluring.”

“How did your mom take it when he left?”

Malachi tried to pull away, but it was her this time that held onto him.

“What happened?”

“She didn’t take it well.” Closing his eyes, he tried to fight the memory. “She snapped and decided to raid the nearest village, killing as many people as she could. Eventually they stopped her though. Once they got her unconscious…”

“They burned her.” She finished his story and looked utterly taken back.

“How did you know that?” He looked at her warily.

“I dreamt it. I was hiding behind a tree next to the village.” She pulled her hands away to bury her face in them. “That was one of the worst ones.”

Malachi stared in disbelief. She had mentioned this in the hospital, but it wasn’t the same as her describing actual events from his past. Snapping out of it, he grabbed onto her and pulled her up as he stood. He then turned around so he could sit and place her on his lap. She wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his neck. “I’m so sorry you had to go through that. It was awful.”

“Yes it was, but it was a long time ago.” As the silence stretched on, he hoped she wasn’t remembering all her other dreams and realizing that they were all his memories as well. Unlikely, he thought. It wouldn’t be long before she caught on. He found himself feeling utterly exposed. She now knew more about him than anybody ever has, and probably ever would.

She sniffed into his neck. “Do you have a sword?”

Damn! “It’s called a falchion, a cusped falchion to be exact.”

She said nothing, but gripped him tighter. Dammit!!

“How is this possible?” Her voice was so muffled by his neck, he almost didn’t understand her.

“Terah thinks it might have to do with…” How was he supposed to tell her this? She could hate him. Sure he saved her life that day, but at what cost?

“What?” This had her sitting up to look at him.

Malachi sighed in resignation and proceeded to tell her about what was discussed in the hospital; the river, his essence, her and him being connected…everything.

“This is insane.”

“I wish I could tell you it was, but there are things…”

“What sort of things?” Her voice was filled with wonder and mixed with a little bit of panic as well.

“There are times when you talk to me with your thoughts.” Malachi rushed on to clarify. “It hasn’t happened that often. I usually can only do it with the other nephilims I’m close to, but I can hear you as well. Not all the time, just when you had unknowingly addressed a thought to me.”

Trinity gaped at him, but then he heard it.

No you can’t.

He looked at his lap and started to play with a stud on her jeans. “Yes I can.” He mumbled, not wanting to upset her, but still needing her to know.

“Holy shit! That’s kind of an invasion of privacy you know?” All he did was purse his lips, still not wanting to look at her. It took a minute, but he felt the aggression slowly melt away from her. “Do you do it on purpose?” Her voice was considerably more controlled.

“Never! It’s just as if you were talking to me.”

“Wow!” She breathed out. Trinity sat for a moment, deep in thought, then she laid back against his chest. “It’s a lot to digest, isn’t it?”

He wrapped his arms around her and held on tight. He was glad that she finally believed him, but this next part was not going to be easy for her to hear. Once everything was laid out in front of her, she would finally understand why she was better off to steer clear of him. “There’s more.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me. What more could there possibly be?” She asked in a sort of comic disbelief.

“It’s important.”

The tension was back in his body, and she must have caught on because she quickly sobered up. “Okay.”

“There were around two hundred angels that “fell” that day with my great grandfather. Out of all of them, he was one of the worst, defied God the moment his feet touched earth. It was even said that he defeated the archangel Michael in a fight. No one beats Michael, that’s how strong he is.”

“Was, how strong he was. You talk as if he’s still around.”

“No, I meant what I said; because he is, Trinity. That’s why I was raised into a life of constant combat. I’ve been training, since I was found at the age of five, for the day that I go up against him. Trinity, his name…his name is Azazel.

She immediately pushed up and off of his lap, and he let her go without a struggle. Obviously she needed space, but he was not expecting what did happen. She rounded on him and snapped. “If this is your idea of a joke, Malachi, you have a twisted sense of humor!”

He stood up right in front of her and grasped her upper arms. “It’s no joke, and everything he’s been doing to you is my fault. Obviously, he knows we are connected and he’s tormenting you to get to me! It was him that blew up the f*cking bridge you were on. I have no doubt that you were the sole purpose for him doing it, knowing that I would be there! I’m also pretty sure that it’s been him working the puppet strings on your old friend, Masters. Someone had been leaking information about us to him…”

She pushed against him with her hands, but at the same time grabbed ahold of his shirt. “I don’t get it. Why you? Or better yet, why doesn’t God do something?

“God always has a plan. All the fallen angels are stuck on earth till their judgment day, when they find out if they’ll be allowed back in heaven or not. Some are lying low, biding their time, while others either don’t care or can’t help themselves from the evil things they do. The last ones are the ones that have to be contained, until the day of God’s choosing. That’s where I come in.”

“Years ago, the angel Raphael, was told to chain him inside a pit; a place to spend the years waiting for his judgment. The plan failed. That was when they found out that only a blood relation can accomplish this. My falchion was blessed by the almighty himself and tossed from the heavens, meant only for me. It’s indestructible and burns the skin of anyone besides me that tries to wield it.”

“It’s also the only thing that can send Azazel into that same pit as before, chained and no longer able to hurt people.” Malachi looked pointedly at her, hoping she got what he was trying to say.

Trinity closed her eyes and shook her head. “You have to understand how impossible this all sounds.” Taking a fortifying breath, she opened her eyes to look into his eyes. “If I hadn’t had the dreams I did, it would be harder to believe, but it all boils down to one thing. I trust in you, Malachi.”

He already had his arms wrapped around her in a crushing hug by the time she finished speaking. He couldn’t think of anyone in his life that has ever had this much faith in him. It was humbling.

“So, do you have a plan?” Her voice caressed over his skin as she spoke into his chest. He couldn’t help the reaction his lower body had to her being this close.

Knowing that she was talking about Azazel, and not what he wanted to do to her, he brought his mind back to the here and now. “Not for today, I don’t. Today it’s all about us, so…what would you like to do?”

She ran her hands up the sides of his body and he gave a low groan. “I could figure out a few things.”

“Mmm, I like how you think.”

She started to lightly caress his chest with her lips, talking in between the small kisses. “So. do. I, but. do you know. what I would like. to do first?”

“Anything.” Malachi could barely form the word.

“Go on that motorcycle ride you promised me.” It took a moment to realize that she had stopped kissing him and was looking up at him with that mischievous smile of hers. What a little vixen!

Looking outside, he saw the sun was out and it was an abnormally warm day for the end of October.

“Fine.” He grudgingly agreed.

No sooner did he agree, than she jumped back and let out a loud squeal, while clapping her hands. Her happiness was infectious, and he soon found himself laughing with her.

He started walking past her to get to the kitchen. “You go get some suitable clothes on, while I finish up in here.” He couldn’t help giving her delectable derriere a slight slap as he passed, marveling in the yelp she let out.

Malachi walked into the kitchen and looked around at the cleanup that still needed to be done, but he couldn’t get the feel of her tight little ass off his hand. Thinking about it, she might not know what clothing is suitable for riding. He should go help.

He reached Trinity by the time she had made it up half the stairs, and he scooped her up to toss her over his shoulder.

“Hey! What are you doing?” She squealed.

“Helping, what does it look like?”

“Helping with what, exactly?” He heard the delight in her voice and had to smile.

“I can do it all, Baby. First I can help you out of these clothes.”

There was that infectious laughter again, as he made his way into to bedroom and unceremoniously dropped her onto the bed, before lowering himself onto her.

Almost two hours later, he was helping her onto his Knuckle to go for the ride she had been begging for.

It took a while to finally leave her house, but they eventually made it to his, to grab a bike. He had every intension to take her out on the Springer, but she took one look at the Knucklehead and deemed “that one” as the one she wanted. Looking into her excited eyes, he found that he could deny her nothing.

Years ago, Malachi was at a job and was getting his ass handed to him. The attack was unexpected and took him completely off guard. Just when he didn’t think he could take anymore, a complete stranger, human, jumped in front of him to take the brunt of the attack. No human could withstand what the demon dished out, and it didn’t take long before the man was on the ground. The delay ended up giving Malachi the resolve he needed to finish off the demon. Afterward Malachi tried, but was just too weak to heal the man that had saved his life. He apologized, but the man just smiled and shook his head. Reaching into his pocket, the man pulled out a set of keys and handed them to Malachi, with his promise to “take care of her.” Needless to say, he wasn’t expecting the ‘her’ to be a motorcycle, but he’s been taking care of it ever since. Anytime he gets discouraged about the direction humanity is going, he works on the bike and remembers the man that gave his life when he didn’t have to.

He had never taken anyone out on it before, as it was always something he reserved for himself. Today, he guessed that all changed.

Placing a helmet on her head, he strapped it under her chin and moved to get onto the bike. “Don’t you need one?”

Malachi gave her a look that basically said, “You’re kidding right?”

“Oh, right.” She actually started to blush. “Isn’t it the law, though?”

He swung his leg over and sat down. “Not in Illinois, it’s not.”

“Then why do I have to wear one?” Was that a pout in her voice he heard?

He helped her climb on behind him, before turning to look at her. He clasped her behind her neck and brought her closer so he could kiss her. “Because I couldn’t take it if anything happened to you.”

“I trust you to keep me safe.”

“And I love that you do, but I can’t control everything out there. Mother Nature can be a bitch and so can other stupid drivers. I’m not taking any chances.”

Just when he was about to start it up, he felt her small hand touch his back.

Can you hear me?

His heart sped up at the thought of her using their connection to speak with him. He turned his head so she could see his affirmative nod.

Can I hear you?

“No, it’s just the one way.” Even though he wished she could.

“Okay, just wondering.”

“Hold on tight!” He yelled as he started up the engine. It was loud and sounded mean, just the way he liked it. Trinity wrapped her arms around his chest as he slowly drove the bike out onto the street.

From there, he just started to ride. They rode all around town slowly, but when he got to an open road on the outskirts, he opened up the throttle. He instantly felt Trinity’s grip tighten and he was about to slow down, thinking she was scared.

Holy cow Malachi! This is AMAZING!

His grin had to of reached his ears, and he lightly squeezed her knee to let her know that he heard her. That my little firecracker, he thought.

They managed to ride into the city and were enjoying the day together. He stopped occasionally so she could stretch her legs, but she couldn’t wait to get right back on. Throughout the day, she projected to him to look at certain things and to tell him again how great it was. He loved it. He loved that she not only acknowledged their bond, but embraced it as well.

It was early evening by the time they made it back to town, and the daylight was starting to dim. They were just outside the town limits when he got a different sensation coming off of Trinity. All day long he had gotten a mixture of excitement, joy, relaxation, but this was different. This was carnal, she was aroused.

That was the only warning he had before her hand traveled seductively lower on his body, stopping just above the waist of his pants. Her arousal soaked over him, and he felt the blood rush to his already semi-hard erection.

Thank you for today Malachi. You just keep showing me new ways to get something big and powerful between my legs.

Shit! Stay focused! Ride strait! Maybe if he didn’t acknowledge her, she would stop.

No such luck. Her devil of a hand found the hem of his shirt and slipped underneath to press directly against his skin.

Ahh. Her touch was so warm. By the way his jeans kept shrinking, he was pretty sure he just had grown even more.

Damn, all this vibration is making me so wet.

Following her declaration, which still had him reeling, she moved the hand that had thankfully before stayed where it should have, up to his nipple and gave a small pinch. He made a choking noise but tried to control his reaction.

When the hand on his stomach moved even lower, he placed his on top of it to stop its descent. Noting his surroundings, he knew they could be to his house in five minutes if he sped up, but he wasn’t willing to take the chance with her on the back, so he resigned himself to a little fewer than ten. She could wait!

She wiggled the fingers that were trapped underneath his hand.

Let me touch you.

No! Wait! F*ck, how he wished she could hear him right now. When he didn’t move his hand, she tried again.

Please Malachi, let me. You keep us steady and I’ll keep you happy.

Her sultry voice was his undoing. Seven minutes, he could do this. Slowly, he removed his hand and placed it back on the handle bar.

She immediately flexed her fingers, then ran her nails lightly over his skin. The sensation caused a shiver to course through his body, which in turn, made her do it again. Finding the top of his jeans, she ran her fingers along the hem, gently caressing his skin. He had grown so hard for her by this point, when her fingers made their way across, they ended up lightly skimming the head of his erection. Six minutes!

He sent up a silent prayer that she wouldn’t touch him again, but inwardly begged for her to as well. Sucking in a breath, he waited as her hand slowly moved back the way it came. When she stopped to concentrate solely on the area begging for her attention, he let it out slowly.

Steady…

The view of her hand was blocked by his shirt, but he still took the route to his house that always had less traffic. He slowed to make a turn, and as he was leaning, her hand slid deeper into his pants to grip him with her fingers. F*ck!

Steady…

Was it just him, or was her projection towards him a little breathy? He had to wonder if she was talking to him or herself.

When he straightened back up, she pulled him higher out of his pants. The force of her pull made him clench his teeth as his hips bucked forward. Four minutes!

She started to run her hand up and down his exposed length, and he had to fight to keep his eyes open and on the road. This was by far the best and worst ride of his entire life.

Almost there... When he saw his house, he almost thanked God, but thought better on it; best not get God’s attention for at least the next hour or so. Taking another deep breath, he returned his focus to the house.

You feel so good…softly covered steel.

Bringing her hand up, she gripped the tip and squeezed before running her nail gently over the slit, enticing a bead of desire to come out. Taking her thumb, she rubbed the moisture over the head.

Oh Malachi, how I wish I could lick this off of you.

That did it. He wasn’t going to make it. At this point, he was glad that he built his garage behind the house. Originally, it was to not bother the neighbors if he wanted the doors open while he worked, but now it was about to come in real handy.

Driving around to the back, he stopped in front of the garage door. Immediately he put down the kickstand and turned to pull her off the bike, without even bothering to turn off the engine. “Get off.”

If he was abrupt, it wasn’t intentional, but the look on her face said that she didn’t know that.

“I’m sorry. I was just having fun.” She removed her helmet as she spoke, and he took the opportunity to free himself completely from his pants. “Malachi, say something!”

“I hope you’re not attached to these jeans.” He reached over and gripped the material covering each delectable ass cheek and yanked, not stopping till her jeans were almost in two pieces.

Ignoring her yelp of surprise, he picked her up, positioned her to straddle him, and slammed into her.

F*cking hell, she wasn’t lying about being wet. He didn’t stop, but immediately lifted her up to pull her down again. Over and over, he moved his hips to sink into her deeper each time he brought her down.

Taking her mouth with his, he swallowed the screams she started to let loose and wasn’t surprised when he felt her body stiffen. The sensations hit him all at once; her nails digging into his shoulders, her legs tightly wrapped around his, and her body tightening on him with each spasm that coursed through her. It was too much. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, thrust up into her one last time, and held her there as he found his release.

After a few minutes, when they had finally caught their breath, they started to move. He pulled her head back and looked into her hooded eyes.

“What you do to me, Angel…”

Reaching up, she placed her hand on his cheek.

“What you do to me.”

He leaned down and kissed her so tenderly, a direct contrast from what they had just done. He loved her so much and wanted her to feel it in every touch, every kiss.

Once he pulled away, she sighed and took a moment to open her eyes. “Um, Malachi…”

“Yes”

“I loved the ride, but I feel I’m going to go crazy if we don’t get off right now.” At his confused look, she went on to clarify. “I can feel the vibrations from your motorcycle all the way to where you’re still inside me. It feels delicious, but I don’t think my body can handle another round like that one, so soon.

He chuckled and was tempted to lean forward and rev the engine a little harder. Deciding not to push it, he gently lifted her off of him and noticed her wince as he did so. Remembering that there was nothing gentle about the way he entered her, he felt like an utter ass. He’s not a small man and could have done some damage if he wasn’t careful. What was he thinking? Oh yeah, he wasn’t.

He turned off the bike before he picked her up and gingerly set her on her feet. Watching how she had difficulty steadying herself, he inwardly cursed himself.

“Did I hurt you?”

“What? Oh no, it’s not that. I’m sure it’s just because we spent the better part of the afternoon riding. You’re used to it, my body’s not yet, that’s all.

Malachi got off the bike and swooped her up into his arms. Her reasoning made sense, and he felt like kicking himself for not thinking about that before. He was losing all train of thought, when it came to her.

“How about a warm bath?” He asked, already heading inside.

He was not about to tell Trinity, but this thing with Azazel had him rattled. He could feel that it was all coming to an end soon, and just hoped that he was the one standing in the end. Well, they still had tonight before everything started up again tomorrow. He would take this time to just be with her and make sure she could never doubt his love for her.

“Mmm…only if you join me.”

He leaned down and kissed her temple before smiling. “I think that can be arranged.”
